Case TR270B Track Loader Troubleshooting

The Case TR270B compact track loader driveline system components: a 207 cu.in (3.4L) FPT F5H FL463 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power of 74 hp (55 kW), and two-speed hydro transmission. The hydraulic system has a pump with a rated flow of 24.2 gpm (91.5 lpm). The system pressure is 3050 psi (210 bar). The Case TR270B is equipped with a planetary gearbox, dozer-style undercarriage, and 12.6" (320 mm) rubber tracks with steel inserts. The loader has a maximum lift height of 125.1" (3180 mm) to hinge pin and dump height of 100.6" (2560 mm). The rated operating capacity is 1890 lbs (860 kg), and tipping load is 5400 lbs (2450 kg).

Engine Troubleshooting

Engine difficult to start or doesn't start

Air trapped in fuel system - Bleed air.
Dirty fuel filter - Change the filter element.
Burnt or clogged injection nozzle - Inspect nozzles and replace if necessary.
Dirt or water in fuel system - Drain water or flush dirt from the system.
Incorrect valve clearance - Check and adjust.

Diesel starts but immediately stops

Air filter is dirty - Install new air filter element.

Engine stops running suddenly

Engine not warmed up - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.

Defective injection nozzle - Install a new kit of correctly balanced nozzles.
Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing - Use the correct fuel injection pump timing adjustment.

Engine stops while idling

Reduced power

Plugged hydraulic oil filter - Replace or clean hydraulic filter.

Input drive shaft malfunction - Repair or install a new drive shaft.

Overheated drive system

Starter cranks slowly
