John Deere 1023E Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Check transmission fluid level. When transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter element.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine idling, steering, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect front and rear tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Checking the oil in front axle. Fill as required.

Check the oil level in hydraulic system. Add if required.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Inspect tractor for loose nuts and bolts.

Every 200 hours

Change engine oil. Motor oil type: Plus-50 (5W-30/10W-40). John Deere 1023E oil system capacity: 2.7 L (0.71 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Replace oil filter. Filter part number - M806418. When installing a new filter, flush the filter housing from dirt. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if it is low.

Replace transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended oil type: Hy-gard (J20D). Transmission/hydraulic system capacity: 12.3 (3.3). After changing the transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid filter. Transmission/hydraulic oil filter part number: LVA16054. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. If required, add it. Replace after first 50 hours and every 200 hours.

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Check alternator/fan belt for wear. If necessary replace it.

Check the tightening torque of the front and rear hub bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Replacing engine primary air filter elements. Engine air filter part number: M113621. Check and service every 10 hours/daily, every 200 hours and annually.

Inspect and service engine secondary air filter. Part number: M123378. Install a new filter if required.

Replace diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: M801101. Check the operation of injection pump.

Replace inline fuel filter. Part number: AM116304.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Top up if required.

Check engine idle speeds. If necessary, adjust the idle speed on the engine.

Inspect and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Front axle oil change.

Check brake adjustment.

Change engine oil and filter. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Replace air cleaner elements.

Replace transmission/hydraulic filter and add fresh oil to hydraulic system.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 3.7 L (0.98 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel injectors.
