John Deere 2520 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check engine oil level. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, add recommended volume.

Check engine primary and secondary air filters. Change if required.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idling, steering, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Checking the air pressure of tyres. Inflate if required.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Check front axle oil level. Top up as necessary.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. Add if required.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Check rear and front wheels. Tighten nuts and bolts as required.

Every 200 hours

Engine oil change. Recommended motor oil: Plus-50, SAE 10W-40, 15W-40, 10W-30. API Service Category CD, CC, SD. How much to change: Engine Oil Capacity - 2.8 L (0.73 gal). After replacing the engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Changing oil filter. Oil filter part number: M806419. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. When installation is complete, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil: Hy-Gard. Transmission and Hydraulic System Capacity - 14.6 L (3.9 gal). Add transmission/hydraulic oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Replacing transmission/hydraulic fluid filter. Oil filter part number: LVU800097. After replacing the filter, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If required, add it.

Change front axle lubricant. Front Axle Capacity - 3.4 L (0.89 gal). Front Axle Oil Type - GL-5.

Every 250 Hours

Check engine primary air filter element. Replace annually, and as required. Air filter part number - M131802.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace annually, and as required. Part number - M131803.

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Replace if necessary.

Check the torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: MIU800645. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Check radiator coolant. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine low idle speed. Adjust if necessary.

Check the hoses and fittings. Tighten as required.

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Change engine oil and filter. Service lubrication system components.

Install a new engine air filter elements.

Replace transmission/hydraulic filter.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 3.9 L (1.03 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel pump.
