John Deere 2950 Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If transmission/hydraulic oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Check engine primary/secondary air filters. Change if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering unit, service brakes and hand brake. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tires and inflate if required.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Checking the oil in front axle. Fill as required.

Check the hydraulic oil level in system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Check front and rear wheels. Tighten bolts and nuts as required.

Every 250 hours

Change engine oil. Motor oil type: Engine oil: Plus-50, SAE 10W-40, 15W-40, 10W-30. API Service Category CD, CC, SD. How much to change: Engine oil capacity: 11.5 L (3.0 gal). Check motor oil level after changing.

Replace oil filter. Filter part number - T19044. Clean the filter housing from dirt before replacing the filter element. When installation is complete, check the oil level. Add oil if it is low.

Check cab recirculation air filter. Replace as required. Part number - R65450 and L38598.

Check alternator/fan belt tension. Adjust if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 400 Hours

Check engine primary air filter elements. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - AL30394.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - AL30395.

Check the coolant in radiator. Top up if required.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Every 600 Hours

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil type: Hy-Gard. How much to change: Transmission/hydraulic capacity: 60 L (15.75 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission fluid level is correct.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter changing. Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter part number - AR75603. After installation, checking the transmission fluid level is recommended. Add transmission fluid if it is low.

Changing hydraulic return flow filter. Part number: AL77061/AL56469/RE34958. Check the hydraulic/transmission oil level after installing a new filter element. Add oil if necessary.

Replace engine fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - AR50041. Check the operation of fuel injection pump.

Check engine idling. If necessary, adjust the engine idle speed.

Inspect and tighten all hoses and clamps.

Check hydrostatic steering oil filter. Replace every 1200 hours or annually. Part number - AL31413.

Front axle lubricant change. Front axle capacity: 7 L (1.8 gal).

Adjust service and parking brakes.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Replace engine primary/secondary air cleaner elements.

Change hydraulic/transmission oil filter and return flow filter.

Change hydraulic/transmission fluid.

Replace steering oil filter.

Replace the fuel filter, but drain water from fuel tank first.

Replace cab recirculation air filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling system capacity: 19 L (5.0 gal).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
