John Deere 4030 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check engine oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking. When transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Check fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - AR50141 (gas) and AR50041 (diesel). Replace as required.

Check air filter elements. Replace if necessary.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check idle engine speed, steering, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect tires and inflate if necessary.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Check front axle oil level. Top up as necessary.

Check the fluid level in hydraulic system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Check tightness of wheel screws and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Check and clean the cab fresh air filter. Part number - R60846.

Check and service the cab recirculation air filter. Part number - RE12793.

Replace engine oil. Recommended oil type: SAE 30 API service classification Torq-Gard or CD-SD. How much to pour: Crankcase with Filter - 16 L (4.3 gal). Check motor oil level after changing.

Engine oil filter replacement. Oil filter part number: T19044. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Replace transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended oil - Hy-Gard or Special 303. How much to pour: Transmission/hydraulic capacity - 49.2 L (13 gal). When the procedure is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic oil level.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter replacement. Oil filter part number: AR75603. After installation, checking the transmission/hydraulic oil level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Clean the radiator grill from dust and dirt.

Check alternator/fan belt tension. Adjust if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the hub bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Inspect engine primary air filter element. Primary air filter part number - AR79941. Service as required. Change annually.

Inspect engine secondary air filter. Part number - AR79942. Change as required. Clean as required. Replace annually.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle. Adjust if necessary.

Check the hoses and fittings. Tighten as recommended.

Front axle lubricant change.

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 22.7 L (6 gal) with cab, 20.8 L (5.5 gal) - without cab.

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.
