Install Hydraulic Hoses - Install nylon protector sleeve (flared end first) over four hoses. Connect hoses to fittings. Tighten to specification. Hose-to-Line Fittings Torque - 38 Nm (28 lb-ft). Install color-coded dust cap on each coupler to match function as follows: Doubling of sleeve is done by attaching sleeve to hoses with tie band approximately 50 mm (2 in.) from fittings, then folding the sleeve inside itself. Double sleeve about 150 mm (6 in.) and cover fittings. Install tie band by lacing tie band through holes in protective sleeve. Press lines into clamp and
tighten cap screw to secure lines to boom. Pull sleeve toward quick-couplers, attach with tie band, double about 50 mm (2 in.) and install second tie band lacing it through protective sleeve. Secure sleeve to hoses with tie bands. After 410 loader has been mounted on JD 4100 tractor, route hoses to avoid contact with loader frame at location. Using tie band, secure hose bundle to loader frame.

Attaching 46 Backhoe To JD 4100 Tractor - Front hanger end of subframe must be below level of front hanger on tractor before tractor is positioned. Back tractor into position over backhoe subframe. Connect backhoe hydraulic hoses: Disconnect Power Beyond hose from female coupler and connect to backhoe hose. Connect backhoe hose with male coupler to female coupler. Start engine and run at slow idle. Use stabilizer control levers to raise or lower stabilizers as needed to position hooks on 46 backhoe subframe in line with draft link pins on tractor rear mounting
support. Back tractor until subframe hooks seat firmly into draft link pins. Lock tractor park brake. Remove backhoe boom lock pin. Use boom and stabilizer control levers to alternately raise the boom and stabilizers, pivoting the subframe on the draft link pins until the holes in the subframe front end align with holes in front hanger.

261 Mower Spindle Assembly - Clean threads on shaft and hub using clean and cure primer. Apply thread lock and sealer (medium strength) on threads. Install hub on shaft. Tighten to 163 Nm (120 lb-ft). Install snap rings. Pack both bearings with Multi-Purpose Grease or equivalent. Turn housing bottom-side up to install lower bearing (sealed on one side only). Be sure bearing seal faces up. Press bearing against snap ring using a 1-15/16 in. disk. Apply Multi-Purpose Grease or equivalent to area between snap rings. Put spacer against lower bearing. Be sure there is enough grease to hold spacer centered in bore. Turn housing top-side-up to install upper nonsealed bearing. Press bearing against spacer, using the correct size driver. Support both the inner and outer rings of both upper and lower bearings.

Put housing bottom-side-up on a press plate with a 1-1/16 in. hole or gap so upper bearing is centered over hole or gap. Look inside spindle to be sure spacer aligns with bearings inside housing and hole or gap of press plate, then install hub and shaft assembly. Press shaft through both bearings and spacer until hub stops against lower bearing. Turn spindle over to install top seal. Press seal flush with rim of housing, using a 1-7/8 in. OD pipe for a driver. Coat outer surface of bushing with grease before you install it with notch toward bearing. Install key. Be sure key is seated to prevent metal shavings from contaminating bearings. Install sheave with welded side of hub away from bearing. Hold spindle assembly in a vise by the lower hub to install nut. Tighten nut to 163 Nm (120 lb-ft). Turn casting on spindle to check for free spin. Install grease fitting. Fill spindle housing completely with Multi-Purpose grease or equivalent.
