John Deere 4105 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check the engine oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, fill in new oil.

Check engine primary/secondary air filters. Install a new filter if required.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine speed, steering system, hand brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire air pressure. Inflate tires if required.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Check front axle oil level. Add if required.

Check the oil in hydraulic tank. Add oil if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Check wheels and tighten nuts and bolts if required.

Every 200 hours

Engine oil change. Engine oil type - Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30. API Service Category CH or higher. How much to add: Engine oil capacity: 4.3 L (1.13 gal). After adding engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Engine oil filter replacement. Engine oil filter part number: M806419. Before replacement procedure, clean the filter housing from dirt. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if required.

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Recommended oil type - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, JDM J20C or J20D. How much to add: Transmission/hydraulic capacity - 31.4 L (8.3 gal). Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level after changing.

Change transmission/hydraulic filter. Part number of transmission/hydraulic filter: LVA13065. After installation, checking the hydraulic oil level is recommended. Add transmission/hydraulic fluid if it is low.

Engine air filter elements checking. Replace as required. Engine primary air filter part number: RE68048. Engine secondary air filter part number: RE68049.

Remove dirt from radiator fins with a brush.

Check alternator/fan belt wear. Replace worn belt.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - MIU800645 and M811032. Check the correct operation of diesel fuel pump.

Check radiator coolant. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine idle. Adjust if necessary.

Inspect all tubes and hoses. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle oil change. Front axle capacity: 4.5 L (1.19 gal). Front Axle Oil - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard.

Adjust parking and service brakes.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 5.3 L (1.4 gal).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charging.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injection pump.
