Checking and Adjusting Latch Plate and Locking Lever - Lower 420 loader to the ground and apply enough downward force to relieve weight from tires. Rotate latch plate over weight bracket, it should rotate freely. Check for interference at location. Grind or file material to eliminate any obstruction. Latch lever must be in hole and free to move up and down. Using tape measure through hole, measure distance from weight bracket-to-front surface of latch. It should be no more than specification. If pin is tight in hole or is still in slot with latch plate closed, adjust latch rod: Remove cap screw to disconnect lever from pin. Rotate pin (in or out) on rod until pin fits freely in hole and dimension at latch and weight bracket is within specification. Weight Bracket-to-Front Surface of Latch - 13 mm (0.5 in.). Apply thread lock and sealer (high strength) to threads of cap screw. Attach lever to pin in reverse order as disassembled.
