John Deere 4400 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check engine oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check hydraulic/transmission fluid level. When hydraulic/transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Checking engine primary and secondary air filters. Change if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine idle speed, steering system, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if required.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect tires and inflate if necessary.

Check battery charging. Replace or charge the battery if required.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Check the hydraulic fluid level in system. If necessary, add hydraulic fluid to the system.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Check tightness of wheel screws and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended engine oil type: Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30. API Service Classification SG or higher. How much is needed: Oil System Capacity - 4.3 L (1.13 gal). Fill with the new oil up to the upper notch on the dipstick.

Engine oil filter replacement. Filter part number - M806419. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Changing hydraulic/transmission oil. Recommended oil - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, JDM J20D or J20C. Transmission/Hydraulic System Capacity: Gear Transmission - 24 L (6.3 gal), Hydrostatic Transmission - 26 L (6.9 gal). After changing the hydraulic/transmission oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Replace filter in hydraulic/transmission system. Hydraulic/transmission filter element part number - LVA10419. Check the hydraulic/transmission oil level after installing a new filter element. Add hydraulic fluid if it is low.

Clean radiator grill from dirt.

Inspect alternator/fan belt. Change if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the front and rear hub bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Engine air filter elements checking. Replace as required. Engine primary air filter part number: M131802. Engine secondary air filter part number: M131803.

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: M801101. Check diesel fuel pump adjustment.

Check radiator coolant. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine low idle speed. Adjust if necessary.

Inspect all tubes and hoses. Tighten as recommended.

Change front axle fluid. Front Axle Capacity - 4.5 L (1.19 gal). Front Axle Oil Type - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Install a new engine air cleaner elements.

Install a new transmission/hydraulic filter.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filters.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 5.7 L (1.51 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
