Detach Bucket - If equipped with hydraulic operated attachment (grapple bucket): Disconnect hydraulic hoses as follows: Shut off tractor engine and remove key. Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times to relieve system pressure. Push back and hold collar on female coupler. Disconnect male coupler. Release collar on female coupler. Insert plug into female coupler and place cap on male coupler. Start JD 4520 tractor engine. Release parking brake and place transmission in NEUTRAL. Roll bucket back slightly and raise boom approximately 460 mm (18 in.) above ground. Remove quick lock pin from each side. Store pins in storage position. Extend bucket cylinders until pin releases from holder strap on each side. Lower H180 loader boom, place transmission in REVERSE, and move away from bucket. Holder releases from hook on each side of bucket. Set parking brake and place transmission in PARK. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

Remove Ballast Box - Park machine on a level surface. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in PARK. Disengage PTO. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

Ballast Box with Three-Point Hitch: Slowly push hitch control lever to lower ballast box to the ground. Remove quick-lock pins from hitch pins and install in storage position on tractor draft links. Remove tractor draft links from ballast box hitch pins. Remove quick-lock pin from center link. Position tractor center link in transport location. Reinstall center link pin/hardware.

Ballast Box with Quick-Coupler: Slowly push hitch control lever to lower ballast box close to the ground. Raise both latch control levers on quick coupler. Start tractor engine. Lower ballast box to the ground. Continue lowering quick-coupler until hooks clear ballast box hitch pins.

Operate Hay Grapple - Hay grapple is not approved for transporting hay bales. Use bale fork attachment to handle hay bales. Approach hay with spears level and grapple open. Push spears into hay until against frame. Close grapple onto material. Raise and roll back just high enough to provide ground clearance for transport.
