John Deere 4650 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. If transmission/hydraulic oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Check engine primary/secondary air filter elements. Replace if required.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check idle engine speed, steering, parking brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect tires and check inflation pressure. If required, add air to tires.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Checking hydraulic oil in system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Inspect the rear and front wheels. Tighten nuts and bolts as required.

Every 200 hours

Replace engine oil. Motor oil type: Torq-Gard, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30. API Service Category CD, CC, SD. Engine oil capacity: 19.9 L (5.3 gal). Check motor oil level after changing.

Changing oil filter. Oil filter part number: DZ101880. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check cab fresh air filter element. Change if necessary or every year. Air filter part number - R65450.

Inspect cab recirculation air filter element. Replace annually and as required. Part number - RE67830.

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Inspect fan/alternator belt. Replace if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 400 Hours

Engine air filter elements checking. Clean as required. Replace annually and as required. Engine primary air filter part number: AR80652. Engine secondary air filter part number: AR80653.

Inspect engine fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: AR86745. Replace as required.

Check engine idle. Adjust engine idle as required.

Inspect and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Every 600 Hours

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil type: Hy-Gard. Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid Capacity with PowerShift Transmission - 70.5 L (18.6 gal) and 101.8 L (26.9 gal) with Quad-Range Transmission. After replacing the transmission/hydraulic oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil filter. Hydraulic/transmission filter part number: AR94510. When installation is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. Add oil if necessary.

Front axle lubricant change. Front Axle Oil: GL-5 Gear Lubricant, 85W-140. Front Axle Capacity: 9 L (9.5 qt).

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Every 1200 Hours

Replace transmission/hydraulic charge pump suction screen. Part number - R53169/AR26375.

Replace transmission/hydraulic return oil manifold screen. Part number - R27173.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if coolant is low.

Service or replace the cab air filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity: 30.3 L (8 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
