John Deere 5055D Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check the engine oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check the transmission fluid level. When transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Engine air filter checking. Install a new filter element if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine speed, steering system, hand brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire inflation pressure. Add air to tires if necessary.

Check battery charge. Charge the battery if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check the fluid level in hydraulic system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Check tightness of wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 250 hours

Changing engine oil. Recommended oil - Plus 50, 15W-40. Oil system capacity: 8.5 L (2.25 gal). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Replacing engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: RE519626. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If necessary, add it.

Engine primary air filter replacement. Air filter part number - RE282286.

Check the engine secondary air filter. Replace if required. Part number - RE282287.

Remove dirt from radiator fins with a brush.

Check fan/alternator belt wear. Replace belt if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the hub bolts.

Every 450 Hours

Change fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - RE60021. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Check radiator coolant. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine idle. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Check the tubes and hoses. Tighten as required.

Change front axle fluid.

Adjust service and parking brakes.

Annual Maintenance

Engine fuel filter. Part number: RE60021
Engine primary air filter. Part number: RE282286
Engine secondary air filter. Part number: RE282287
Engine oil filter. Part number: RE519626
Transmission/hydraulic oil filter. Part number: RE45864

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Install a new air filter elements.

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended fluid type - J20C/J20D. Transmission/hydraulic system capacity: 38 L (10 gal). Add transmission/hydraulic fluid to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil filter. Fluid filter part number - RE45864. When installation is complete, check the fluid level. Add transmission/hydraulic oil if it is low.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling system capacity: 9.5 L (2.5 gal).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charging.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injection pump.
