Massey Ferguson 1205 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check the transmission oil level. If transmission oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Check engine air filter element. Replace if required.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering, hand brake and service brakes. If you found a problem, fix it.

Every 150 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended engine oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to fill: Engine Oil Capacity - 2.9 qt (2.7 L). When the procedure is complete, check the engine oil level.

Changing oil filter. Oil filter part number: 72201898. When replace the filter, flushing the housing is necessary. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If necessary, add oil.

Inspect all tires. Inflate tires if necessary.

Check the battery. Clean if required.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Checking hydraulic fluid in system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Check tractor for loose or lost nuts and screws.

Every 200 hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil type: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. Transmission system capacity: with Standard Transmission - 14.3 qt (13.5 L), with Hydrostatic Transmission - 15.9 qt (15 L). After filling, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level with a dipstick.

Perform hydraulic filter replacement. Part number of hydraulic filter: 3754814M2 Element for Standard Transmission, 3608199M91 Spin-on for Hydrostatic Transmission. When installation is complete, check the hydraulic fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.

Check and clean the air filter.

Clean the radiator fins with a brush from dust.

Check alternator/fan belt tension. Adjust if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 300 Hours

Replacing air filter element. Air filter part number - 3757472M91.

Change fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 3608255M1, O-ring: 72100750. Check diesel fuel pump adjustment.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if required.

Check engine low idle speed. If necessary, adjust the engine idle speed.

Inspect all fittings and hoses. Tighten as required.

Front axle oil change. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 2.9 qt (2.7 L).

Check brake adjustment.

Change engine oil and filter. Service lubricating system components.

Change air cleaner elements.

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid.

Replace hydraulic filter and add fresh fluid to transmission/hydraulic system.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 5.4 qt (5.1 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
