Massey Ferguson 154-4 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Check the transmission oil level. When the transmission fluid is low, add fresh oil.

Checking air filter element. Replace if required.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idle speed, steering, hand brake and service brakes. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 100 Hours

Engine oil change. Recommended motor oil type - 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much is needed: Engine Oil Capacity - 6.8 qt (7.2 L). When the procedure is complete, check the engine oil level.

Engine oil filter element replacement. Oil filter element part number: 837595V91. When changing the filter, clean the dirt inside the filter housing. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. Add oil if required.

Inspect tires and check inflation pressure. If required, add air to tires.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check oil in hydraulic system. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Check front and rear wheels. Tighten bolts and nuts as required.

Every 200 hours

Replace fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 836218V92. Check the correct operation of injection pump.

Check the air filter and clean if required.

Clean the radiator with a brush if the fins are dirty.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. A worn belt should be replaced.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Recommended hydraulic/transmission fluid: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much is required: Oil Capacity - 5.5 gal (21 L). Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level after replacement.

Changing hydraulic oil filter. Hydraulic filter part number - 3307250M91 (Element). After installation, checking the transmission/hydraulic fluid level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Changing engine air filter elements. Air filter element part number: 1420511M91.

Change steering oil. Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L).

Check cooling system for leaks. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle. Adjust if necessary.

Check the hoses and tubes. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle oil change.

Check brake adjustment.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Change air filter elements.

Install a new hydraulic filter and fill with fresh transmission/hydraulic oil.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 11.1 qt (10.4 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charging.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
