Massey Ferguson 240S Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. When the transmission/hydraulic fluid is low, add fresh oil.

Check engine air filter elements. Replace if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering system, hand brake and service brakes. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire air pressure. Inflate tires if required.

Check battery charging. Replace or charge the battery if required.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check oil level in the hydraulic tank. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 250 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended motor oil type - SAE 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. API service classification SE, SF, CC, CD. Lubricating system capacity - 7.2 qt (6.8 L). Add oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Oil filter changing. Filter part number - 1447082M2. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check engine primary air filter element. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - 3824032V1.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - 3824033V1.

Remove dirt from radiator fins with a brush.

Check fan/alternator belt wear. Replace belt if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Replace steering oil filter element. Steering filter part number - 0013945U1. Check the steering fluid level after installing a new filter. Add oil if required. Steering Oil Capacity - 0.53 qt (0.51 L).

Replace fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 836218V92. Check diesel fuel pump operation.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if coolant is low.

Front axle oil change.

Check brake adjustment.

Every 1000 Hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic fluid: Permatran 3, SAE 10W-30. How much to change: Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 9.2 gal (35 L). When the procedure is complete, check the transmission oil level.

Perform hydraulic filter replacement. Hydraulic filter element part number - 3771122V92. After installation, checking the transmission/hydraulic oil level is recommended. If necessary, add it.

Check engine idling. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect all fittings and hoses. Tighten as recommended.

Change engine oil and filter. Service oil system components.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 2.7 gal (10.2 L).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
