Massey Ferguson 274 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check the engine oil level. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking procedure. If transmission/hydraulic oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Checking engine air filters. Replace if required.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check idle engine speed, steering, hand brake and service brakes. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect front and rear tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Inspect the battery. Clean the terminals as required.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Checking hydraulic oil in system. Fill the hydraulic system as required.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 200 hours

Changing engine oil. Engine oil type - SAE 20, 20W. API service classification SE, SF, CC, CA. How much to change: Engine Oil Capacity - 7.5 qt (7.1 L). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number: 1447048M2. When changing the filter, clean the dirt inside the filter housing. When installation is complete, check the oil level. If necessary, add it.

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 836218V92. Check the correct operation of injection pump.

Check engine primary air filter element. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - 1698684M1.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - 1698683M1.

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Check alternator/fan belt tension. Adjust if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the hub bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Recommended transmission/hydraulic fluid type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much to pour: Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 5.5 gal (21.0 L). Fill with the new transmission/hydraulic oil up to the upper notch on the dipstick.

Change steering oil filter. Part number: 3300901M91. After installation, checking the steering fluid level is recommended. If after checking the fluid level is low, add it. Steering Oil Capacity - 2.0 qt (1.9 L).

Replace hydraulic filter element. Hydraulic filter part number: 3307250M91. When installation is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. Add oil if it is low.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect all hoses and fittings. Tighten as required.

Front axle lubricant change. Front Axle Oil - Permatran.

Check and adjust the parking and service brakes.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel pump.
