Diesel engine hard to start or doesn't start: Fuel filter element is dirty. Service the filter. There is air in the fuel system. Bleed the system. Fuel injection nozzles are dirty or defective. Check injection nozzles and replace if required. Defective fuel injection pump. Replace or repair injection pump.

Engine stalls during operation: Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Fuel filter plugged. Change the filter element. Engine is not fully warmed up. Warm up the engine.

Diesel starts but immediately stops: Fuel filter plugged. Clean the filter or install new filter element. Defective fuel injection pump. Rebuild or replace pump. Air filter clogged. Air filter maintenance required.

Engine is overheated: Clogged radiator fins or leaking radiator cap. Clean radiator or replace cap. Low engine coolant. Add coolant fluid and inspect the cooling system for leaks. Damaged or worn fan belt. Change as required. Lack of engine oil. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.

Engine lacks power: Fuel injection nozzles are faulty or clogged. Check and replace nozzles if required. Clogged fuel hoses or lines. Service fuel hoses and lines. Dirty air cleaner. Carry out maintenance on air filter. Cylinder-head gasket is broken. Cylinder-head gasket replacement required.

Hydraulic system overheats: Improper type of hydraulic oil. Use the proper type of oil. Contaminated hydraulic fluid. Change hydraulic fluid. There is air in the hydraulic system. Bleed hydraulic system. Main relief valve malfunctioning. Change relief valve.

Insufficient hydraulic fluid pressure: Hydraulic fluid is insufficient. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Dirty hydraulic oil filter element. Clean the hydraulic filter element or replace if necessary.
