Kubota B2601 Engine Troubleshooting

Engine hard to start or doesn't start: Dirty fuel filter. Install new filter element. Air in the fuel system. Air bleeding. Clogged injection nozzle. Change fuel injection nozzles. Faulty fuel injection pump. Rebuild or install a new injection pump.

Diesel shuts off while driving: Improper fuel injection timing. Adjust according to specifications. Fuel filter element is dirty. Clean the filter element. Engine is not preheated. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.

Engine starts but stalls immediately: Fuel filter element clogging. Service the filter. Defective fuel injection pump. Rebuild or change fuel pump. Plugged air cleaner. Replace air filter element.

Engine is overheated: Radiator core is dirty or radiator cap is damaged. Install new cap or clean radiator. Lack of engine coolant. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt slipping or worn. Fan belt must be replaced. Engine oil level is low. Check and refill engine oil.

Diesel engine loses power: Faulty fuel injection nozzles. Service or change injection nozzles. Clogged fuel lines or hoses. Service fuel lines and hoses. Plugged air filter. Install new air filter element. Defective cylinder head gasket. Gasket should be replaced.

Engine knocking or noise: Engine is not preheated. Warm up engine as required. Low engine oil level. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Improper fuel injection timing. Set it up as required. Pistons are broken or worn. Pistons replacement required. Connecting rod misalignment or failure. Need to align or replace the connecting rod.

Engine stops at low idle speed: Low idle speed setting is not correct. Correct low idle adjustment. The valve clearance is incorrect. Adjust to proper valve clearance. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Replacement or repair required.

Oil pressure is insufficient: Engine oil level low. Checking oil level and add if necessary. Oil pump malfunction. Repair or change. Clogged oil filter. Change or clean engine oil filter element.

Kubota B2601 Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting

HST transmission noises: Worn or out of adjustment speed control linkage. Adjust or change linkage. Transmission overloaded. The load should be reduced. Fluid is contaminated or fluid level is insufficient. Top up to proper level or change transmission fluid. Stuck relief valve. Replace valve as required. Worn or defective parts of the hydrostatic transmission. Check hydrostatic transmission components for defect or damage and change if necessary.

Transmission fluid overheats: Excessive loading. Reduce loading. Clogged or damaged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and service or change if necessary. Low fluid level. Need to add transmission fluid. Dirty transmission fluid filter element. Replace or service transmission fluid filter.

Lack of power: Transmission fluid level is low. Checking transmission fluid level and add if necessary. Relief valve is stuck. Replace relief valve. Defective or not adjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or install new linkage.

Transmission fluid leakage: Oil return tube is plugged. Clean or replace the tube. Damaged seals or gaskets. Change defective gaskets or seal. Internal transmission housing pressure is too high. Change defective components.

Kubota B2601 Hydraulics Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system overheats: Hydraulic oil type is wrong. Correct type of oil must be used. Hydraulic fluid contamination. Change hydraulic fluid. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Damaged main relief valve. Relief valve need to be replaced.

Hydraulic oil pressure too low: Hydraulic fluid is insufficient. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Dirty hydraulic fluid filter element. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Steering is hard: Air lock in the steering system. Bleed air from system. Steering filter is dirty. Clean steering filter element. Low steering fluid level. Fill the steering system with fluid. Adjust toe-in properly. Steering linkage components are loose or worn. Repair or replace steering linkage. Front wheel bearings are defective or improperly adjusted. Install new bearings or adjust it correctly. Front tyres wear unevenly. Change the tyres.

Kubota B2601 Electrical Troubleshooting

Battery does not charge: Electrical cable connections are loose or corroded. Service or tighten cable connections. Defective battery terminal clamps. Terminal clamps should be changed. Dead cell in battery. Battery replacement required. Damaged or loose belt. Belt needs to be adjusted or replaced.

Starter turning slow: Battery voltage is low. Recharge the battery. Battery does not hold charge. Battery needs to be serviced or replaced. Bad battery terminals or disconnected wiring. Connect wiring correctly or install new terminals.
