Loss of engine power: Faulty fuel injection nozzles. Inspect nozzles and replace if necessary. Fuel hoses or lines are dirty. Service fuel lines and hoses. Air filter plugged. Replace air filter element. Worn cylinder head gasket. Cylinder-head gasket replacement required.
Engine knocks or noises: Low coolant temperature. Warm up the engine. Not enough engine oil. Fill up the oil to required level. Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Adjust the pump as required. Pistons are broken or worn. Replace the pistons as required. Misaligned or faulty connecting rod. Need to change or align the connecting rod.
Engine stalls while idle: Low idle speed set incorrectly. Correct the settings. Valve clearance is wrong. Need to adjust valve clearance. Fuel injection pump is broken. Rebuild or replace pump.
Oil pressure too low: Low crankcase oil level. Fill the crankcase with oil. Worn oil pump. Repair or change. Clogged oil filter element. Clean or change engine oil filter.
Kubota B2920 Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting
HST transmission noises: Worn or unadjusted speed control linkage. Repair or adjust linkage. Transmission overload. The load should be reduced. Contaminated transmission fluid or low fluid level. Add fluid to the correct level or fill the transmission with fresh fluid. Relief valve is stuck. Replace relief valve. Worn or defective parts of the hydrostatic transmission. After disassembly and inspection, replace defective components.
Transmission fluid overheats: Transmission is under excessive load. Load needs to be reduced. Cooling components are plugged or defective. Check all cooling components and repair or change if required. Transmission fluid level is low. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Clogged transmission oil filter element. Clean or change transmission oil filter.
Power is insufficient: Transmission fluid insufficient. Checking transmission fluid level and add if necessary. Relief valve failure. Replace relief valve. Bent or unadjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or replace linkage.
External fluid leaks: Oil drain line is clogged. Clean or change the line. Worn seals or gaskets. Replace worn seal or gaskets. Internal transmission housing pressure is too high. Change defective parts.
Kubota B2920 Hydraulics Troubleshooting
Hydraulic system overheated: Hydraulic oil type is wrong. Correct type of oil must be used. Hydraulic fluid is contaminated. Fill up with new hydraulic fluid. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Main relief valve failure. Relief valve replacement required.
Hydraulic fluid pressure is insufficient: Low hydraulic oil level. Checking hydraulic oil level and add if necessary. Hydraulic oil filter element is clogged. Change the hydraulic filter element or service if required. Leaks in hydraulic pipes. Check the hydraulic system and fix leaks. Incorrect setting hydraulic spool valve. Use the correct setting. Hydraulic pump failure. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Damaged hydraulic cylinder. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder.
Hitch can't lift or lifts too slowly: Hydraulic pump malfunction. Replace or repair hydraulic oil pump. Faulty main relief valve. Change relief valve. Hydraulic control valve block is faulty. Repair or replace hydraulic valve. Hydraulic cylinder malfunction. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder. Insufficient hydraulic fluid. Add fluid as required. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Clean or replace the hydraulic filter. Excessive hitch loading. Reduce hitch load.
3-point hitch does not lower or lowers very slowly: Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic spool valve is out of adjustment. Spool valve adjustment required. Hitch cross shaft is worn. Replace the shaft. Three-point hitch is out of adjustment. Adjust the 3-point hitch.
Hitch lower or lift is jerky: Hydraulic fluid is contaminated. Fill up with new hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic pump malfunction. Repair or replace hydraulic fluid pump. Air trapped in hydraulic system. Bleed air from system. Hydraulic spool valve is defective. Repair or change hydraulic valve. Defective hydraulic cylinder. Repair or replace hydraulic cylinder.
Kubota B2920 Steering System Troubleshooting
Excessive play in steering: Steering column shaft or coupling is worn out. Replace defective part. Faulty steering pump. Install a new steering pump. Steering linkage joints are worn or loose. Replace or repair steering linkage. Hydrostatic steering unit has malfunction or wear. Repair or change the steering unit.
