Kubota B3030 Diesel Engine Troubleshooting

Engine hard to start or will not start: Dirty fuel filter. Service the filter. Air in fuel system. Bleed fuel system. Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Test injection nozzles and change if necessary. Fuel injection pump is defective. Rebuild or change fuel pump.

Engine stops running suddenly: Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Fuel filter plugging. Install new filter element. Coolant temperature is low. Warm up the engine.

Diesel starts but stalls immediately: Dirty fuel filter. Service or replace the filter. Fuel injection pump damage. Change or repair the pump. Intake air restriction. Service air cleaner.

Engine overheating: Damaged radiator cap or dirty radiator core. Replace cap or clean radiator. Not enough coolant. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt slipping or worn. If necessary, replace the belt. Engine oil level low. Check and refill engine oil.

Engine power is reduced: Faulty fuel injection nozzles. Check injection nozzles and replace if required. Fuel lines or hoses are clogged. Fuel hoses and lines must be clean. Dirty air cleaner. Clean or change the filter. Cylinder head gasket defective. Cylinder-head gasket replacement required.

Engine knocking or noise: Coolant temperature is low. Warm up engine as required. Engine oil level low. Fill up the engine oil. Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect. Adjust as recommended. Oil is dirty or oil level is too low. Change transmission oil or top up to proper level. Relief valve is damaged. Replace relief valve. Worn or defective parts of the hydrostatic transmission. After disassembly and inspection, replace defective components.

Transmission fluid overheating: Excessive transmission load. Reduce loading. Defective or plugged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and service or replace if necessary.
