Kubota B3350 Engine Troubleshooting
Engine hard to start or doesn't start: Fuel filter element is dirty. Clean or change the filter. Air in the fuel pipes. Bleed the fuel pipes. Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Clean or change injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump is broken. Change pump or rebuild it.
Engine stops suddenly during operation: Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing. Set it up as required. Fuel filter plugged. Clean or change the filter. Engine not warmed up. Warm up engine as required.
Engine starts but then stops: Fuel filter element is dirty. Service the filter. Fuel injection pump failure. Replacement or repair required. Dirty air filter element. Clean or change the filter.
Engine overheating: Radiator fins are dirty or radiator cap is defective. Install new cap or clean radiator. Low coolant level. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt is loose or defective. Fan belt must be replaced. Insufficient engine oil. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
Low engine power: Fuel injection nozzles are damaged. Change fuel injection nozzles. Fuel lines or hoses are clogged. Clean fuel system hoses and lines. Clogged air filter element. Service or replace the air filter. Worn cylinder head gasket. Install new cylinder head gasket.
Abnormal engine knocking or noise: Low coolant temperature. Warm up the engine. Low engine oil level. Check oil level and add oil as required. Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set up as recommended. Pistons are worn or scored. Replace the pistons. Connecting rod is misaligned or defective. Connecting rod needs to be replaced or aligned.
Engine stops while idle: Wrong adjustment of low idle speed. Correct low idle adjustment. Valve out of adjustment. Check and adjust. Faulty fuel injection pump. Rebuild or replace pump.
Insufficient oil pressure: Low oil level. Add oil to the engine crankcase. Worn oil pump. Repair or replace. Dirty oil filter. Service or change engine oil filter element.
Kubota B3350 Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting
HST transmission is excessively noisy: Bent or unadjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or replace linkage. Transmission is under excessive load. Reduce loading. Dirty transmission fluid or insufficient fluid level. Add fluid to the correct level or fill the transmission with fresh fluid. Relief valve failure. Replace the valve. Damaged or worn components of hydrostatic transmission. Replace or repair defective components.
Transmission fluid is too hot: Transmission overloaded. Load needs to be reduced. Cooling components are plugged or defective. Inspect all cooling components and replace or repair if necessary. Transmission fluid insufficient. Need to add transmission fluid. Transmission oil filter is clogged. Clean or change transmission oil filter.
Power is too low: Transmission fluid level is low. Fill the transmission housing to proper fluid level. Relief valve malfunction. Install a new valve. Bent or unadjusted speed control pedal linkage. Change or adjust linkage.
External oil leaks: Plugged transmission fluid return tube. Service or replace return tube. Worn seals or gaskets. Replace worn seal or gaskets. High internal transmission case pressure. Change defective parts.

Hydraulic system is overheated: Incorrect hydraulic fluid type. Fill up with the proper type of fluid. Hydraulic oil is contaminated. Fill up with fresh hydraulic oil. Air in hydraulic pipes. Bleed hydraulic pipes. Main relief valve malfunction. Relief valve must be changed.
Hydraulic oil pressure is low: Hydraulic oil is insufficient. Fill the system to proper hydraulic oil level. Hydraulic oil filter element is clogged. Clean the hydraulic filter or install new filter element. Leaking hydraulic pipes. Inspect hydraulic system for leaks and repair it. Hydraulic control valve block is not set properly. 3-point hitch can't lift or lifts too slowly: Hydraulic pump failure. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Main relief valve is damaged. Relief valve need to be replaced. Hydraulic control valve block is defective. Install a new hydraulic valve or repair it. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic fluid is insufficient. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic fluid filter element is clogged. Service the hydraulic filter or change if required. Hitch is under excessive load. Reduce the load is required.
3-point hitch cannot be lowered or lowering is too slowly: Hydraulic cylinder not working. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic control valve block is not set properly. Use the proper setting. Damaged hitch cross shaft. Change the shaft. Unadjusted hitch. The three-point hitch must be adjusted.
Hitch lift or drop is jerky: Hydraulic fluid is contaminated. Fill up with new hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic pump malfunction. Repair or replace hydraulic fluid pump. Air in hydraulic lines. Not adjusted toe-in. Adjust toe-in wheels. Steering linkage parts are loose or worn. Change or repair steering linkage. Improperly adjusted or worn front wheel bearings. Battery is not charging: Wiring connections are loose or corroded. Tighten or clean electrical wiring connections. Defective electrical terminal connectors. Install new terminal connectors. Faulty cell in battery. Change the battery. Worn or loose belt. Change belt or adjust belt tension.
Starter turns slowly: Low battery output. Battery is drained, recharge it. Battery will not hold charge. Service or replace the battery. Terminals are faulty or battery cables are disconnected. Check wire connections and change or service terminals.
