Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust as recommended. Pistons are worn or scored. Replace the pistons as required. Connecting rod failure or misalignment. Replace or align connecting rod.
Engine stalls when idling: Too low idle RPM. Adjust the low idle speed. The valve clearance is not adjusted. Need to adjust valve clearance. Faulty fuel injection pump. Replace or rebuild injection pump.
Oil pressure is insufficient: Low oil level. Fill crankcase to proper oil level. Oil pump is defective. Repair or replace. Oil filter element clogging. Replace or clean engine oil filter element.
Kubota B6100 Transmission Troubleshooting
Transmission noise: Damaged gears or incorrect backlash. Replace defective gears or set backlash properly. Worn or bent shift forks. Change defective shift forks. Shaft splines are damaged or worn. Replace defective shaft. Lack of transmission oil supply. Check transmission oil level and add oil as required. Worn or damaged bearings. Replace the bearings. Transmission oil is contaminated. Change the oil.
Gears are hard to shift: Stuck or worn gear shift linkage. Shift linkage need to be replaced. Malfunction or incorrect clutch adjustment. Adjust clutch or change if necessary. Damaged or worn gear shift forks. Install new shift forks. Worn gear shifting mechanism. Repair or change worn components if necessary.
Insufficient transmission fluid pressure: Transmission fluid insufficient. Need to add transmission fluid. Transmission fluid filter element is clogged (if equipped). Service or replace the transmission fluid filter. Relief valve is damaged. Change relief valve.
External fluid leaks: Seals or gaskets are broken. Gaskets or seal replacement required. Transmission fluid level is exceeded. Excess fluid must be drained.
Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting
Excessive HST transmission noise: Defective or not adjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or replace linkage. Transmission overload. The load should be reduced. Oil is dirty or oil level is too low. Add oil to the correct level or fill the transmission with fresh oil. Relief valve failure. Replace the valve. Transmission components are damaged or worn. Check hydrostatic transmission components for defect or damage and change if necessary.
Transmission overheats: Transmission overload. The load should be reduced. Damaged or clogged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and replace or clean if necessary. Transmission oil insufficient. Fill the transmission housing with oil. Transmission oil filter element clogging. Service or replace the transmission oil filter.
Loss of power: Low fluid level. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Defective relief valve. Install a new valve. Defective or not adjusted speed control pedal linkage. Repair or adjust linkage.
Transmission oil leakage: Plugged transmission fluid return tube. Service or replace return tube. Seals or gaskets are worn. Seals and gaskets replacement required. High internal transmission case pressure. Change defective components.
Kubota B6100 Hydraulic System Troubleshooting
Excessive hydraulic system heat: Wrong hydraulic fluid type. Pour the proper type of fluid. Dirty hydraulic oil. The oil must be changed. Air in hydraulic lines. Bleed hydraulic lines. Defective main relief valve. Change relief valve.
Hydraulic fluid pressure too low: Low hydraulic fluid level. Add fluid as required. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Hydraulic filter maintenance required. Leaks in hydraulic pipes. Find leaks in the system and fix it. Hydraulic control valve block is set improperly. Set properly. Hydraulic pump malfunction. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder.
Hitch not raising or hitch raises slowly: Faulty hydraulic pump. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. Damaged main relief valve. Relief valve must be changed. Defective hydraulic control valve block. Install a new valve or repair it. Broken hydraulic cylinder. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic fluid level low. Checking hydraulic fluid level and add if necessary. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Change the hydraulic filter element or service if required. Heavy load on the hitch. Load needs to be reduced.
Three-point hitch cannot be dropped or dropping is too slow: Hydraulic cylinder malfunction. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder. Incorrect adjusted hydraulic spool valve. Adjust the spool valve correctly. Worn lift arm shaft. Replace the shaft. Misadjusted hitch. Adjust as required.
Hitch lift or lower is jerky: Hydraulic fluid contamination. Change hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic pump not working. Change or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Defective hydraulic spool valve. Install a new hydraulic valve or repair it. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder.
Kubota B6100 Steering System Troubleshooting
