Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise: Coolant temperature is low. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine. Engine oil insufficient. Checking oil level and add if necessary. Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Pistons are worn or broken. Pistons need to be replaced. Connecting rod is misaligned or defective. Connecting rod must be aligned or replaced.

Engine stops while idle: Improperly adjusted low idle speed. Correct the settings. Valve clearance is wrong. Correct valve clearance needs to be set. Fuel injection pump is damaged. Rebuild or change fuel pump.

Insufficient oil pressure: Oil level is low. Add oil to the engine crankcase. Defective oil pump. Install a new pump. Oil filter element clogged. Replace or clean engine oil filter element.

Kubota B7100 Transmission Troubleshooting

Excessive transmission noise: Improper backlash or worn gears. Install new gears and set backlash correctly. Damaged or worn gear shift forks. Change defective shift forks. Damaged or worn shaft splines. Replace the shaft. Lack of transmission fluid. Add fluid to the transmission housing. Bearings are broken or worn. Replace the bearings. Transmission fluid is dirty. Change the fluid.

Gear hard to shift: Rusty or worn gear shift linkage. Lubricate or replace the shift linkage. Malfunction or incorrect clutch adjustment. Clutch needs to be replaced or adjusted. Damaged or worn gear shift forks. Change defective shift forks. Gearshift mechanism malfunction. Identify and replace failed parts.

Lack of transmission oil pressure: Transmission fluid insufficient. Add fluid to the transmission housing. Plugged transmission oil filter (if equipped). Clean or replace the transmission filter. Relief valve is damaged. Replace valve as required.

Transmission oil leaks: Broken seals or gaskets. Install new seal or gaskets. Too much fluid in transmission. Excess fluid must be drained.

Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting

Hydrostatic transmission makes excessive noise: Worn or out of adjustment speed control linkage. Repair or adjust linkage. Transmission overloaded. The load should be reduced. Transmission fluid is dirty or fluid level is too low. Fill to required level or change the fluid. Stuck relief valve. Change the valve. Transmission parts are worm or defective. After disassembly and inspection, replace defective components.

Transmission fluid overheated: Excessive loading. Reduce the load is required. Clogged or damaged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and replace or clean if necessary. Transmission fluid insufficient. Add fluid to the transmission housing. Dirty transmission fluid filter element. Replace or service transmission fluid filter.

Lack of power: Insufficient transmission oil. Fill up the transmission oil. Relief valve is stuck. Install a new relief valve. Speed control linkage is defective or unadjusted. Repair or adjust linkage.

External oil leaks: Plugged oil return tube. Clean or replace return tube. Broken seals or gaskets. Install new components. High internal transmission housing pressure. Change defective parts.

Kubota B7100 Hydraulics Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system overheating: Hydraulic oil type is incorrect. Pour the correct type of oil. Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Air trapped in hydraulic system. Bleed air from system. Main relief valve malfunction. Relief valve need to be replaced.

Hydraulic oil pressure is low: Hydraulic fluid level low. Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level. Dirty hydraulic fluid filter. Replace filter element or clean if required. Leaking hydraulic lines. Check the hydraulic system and fix leaks. Hydraulic control valve is out of adjustment. Need to make adjustment. Damaged hydraulic pump. Change or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder.

3-point hitch cannot be raised or raising is too slowly: Hydraulic pump not working. Replace or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Faulty main relief valve. Change relief valve. Faulty hydraulic spool valve. Repair or replace the valve. Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic fluid level low. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Clogged hydraulic fluid filter element. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Excessive load on hitch. Reduce loading.

Hitch won't drop or drops slowly: Broken hydraulic cylinder. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder. Incorrect adjusted hydraulic control valve. Adjust correctly. Worn lift arm shaft. Install a new shaft. Three-point hitch has not been adjusted. Adjustment is required.

Jerky lifting or lowering of three-point hitch: Hydraulic oil contamination. Change the oil. Hydraulic pump not working. Install a new hydraulic oil pump. Air trapped in hydraulic system. Bleed air from system. Defective hydraulic control valve block. Repair or replace hydraulic valve. Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Repair or install a new hydraulic cylinder.

Kubota B7100 Steering System Troubleshooting

Excessive steering wheel play: Worn steering column shaft or bearing. Replace faulty components. Loose or worn steering linkage components. Repair or replace steering linkage. Worn steering gearbox bearings. Change the bearings. Replace hub bearings or knuckles.
