Kubota BX2350 Engine Troubleshooting

Engine starts hard or will not start: Dirty fuel filter. Replace the filter element. Air trapped in fuel system. Bleed air. Defective injection nozzle. If necessary, replace with a new nozzle. Fuel injection pump is broken. Replace or rebuild injection pump.

Engine shuts off suddenly while running: Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Fuel filter element clogging. Clean or change the filter. Engine not warmed up. Warm up the engine.

Diesel starts and stalls immediately: Fuel filter element is dirty. Service the filter. Defective fuel injection pump. Repair or install a new fuel pump. Dirty air filter. Clean or replace the element.

Engine overheating: Radiator fins are dirty or radiator cap is defective. Clean radiator or change cap. Coolant level is low. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt is worn or faulty. Replace as required. Engine oil level is insufficient. Fill up the oil to required level.

Engine loses power: Fuel injection nozzles fault. Check injection nozzles and replace if required. Fuel hoses or lines are clogged. Clean fuel hoses and lines. Clogged air filter. Service air cleaner. Worn cylinder head gasket. Change cylinder head gasket.

Engine knocks or noises: Engine is not preheated. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Not enough engine oil. Fill up the engine oil. Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Broken or worn pistons. Install new pistons. Connecting rod is not aligned or worn. Replace or align connecting rod.

Engine stops at low idle speed: Too low idle RPM. Adjust as required. Excessive valve clearance. Have it adjusted. Defective fuel injection pump. Change or repair the pump.

Low oil pressure: Not enough oil in the engine. Add oil as required. Oil pump malfunction. Check and replace if necessary. Clogged oil filter. Service or change engine oil filter element.

Kubota BX2350 Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting

HST transmission noise: Worn or out of adjustment speed control linkage. Repair or adjust linkage. Excessive transmission load. Reduce the load is required. Fluid is contaminated or fluid level is insufficient. Pour fresh fluid or add transmission fluid to proper level. Relief valve failure. Change the valve. Transmission components are damaged or worn. Replace or repair defective components.

Hot transmission oil: Transmission overload. Load needs to be reduced. Clogged or damaged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and service or change if necessary. Insufficient transmission fluid. Fill the transmission housing to proper fluid level. Dirty transmission fluid filter. Replace or service transmission fluid filter.

Low power: Transmission fluid insufficient. Checking transmission fluid level and add if necessary. Relief valve malfunction. Replace valve as required. Speed control pedal linkage is bent or not adjusted. Replace or adjust linkage.

Transmission oil leaking: Plugged oil return tube. Clean or replace return tube. Broken seals or gaskets. Change defective seal or gaskets. High internal transmission case pressure. Replace worn components.

Hydraulics overheating: Hydraulic fluid type is wrong. Use correct type of hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic oil contamination. Change the oil. There is air in the hydraulic system. Bleed hydraulic system. Main relief valve malfunctioning. Relief valve need to be replaced.

Hydraulic oil pressure is insufficient: Hydraulic oil is insufficient. Checking hydraulic oil level and add if necessary. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Service the hydraulic filter or change if required. Hydraulic piping is leaking. Inspect hydraulic system for leaks and repair it. Hydraulic control valve is out of adjustment. Control valve needs to be adjusted. Hitch rock shaft is damaged. Install a new shaft. The three-point hitch is not adjusted. The hitch must be adjusted.

Hitch lift or drop is not smoothly: Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Damaged hydraulic pump. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Battery does not charge: Loose or corroded electrical wiring connections. Tighten or service cable connections. Battery terminal connectors are defective. Replace terminal connectors. Battery is defective. Install a new battery. Loose or defective belt. Adjust belt tension or change the belt.

Starter cranks slowly: Low battery power. Low battery charging, charge as required. Battery won’t hold charge. Battery needs service or replacement. Terminals are faulty or battery cables are disconnected. Connect wires properly or change terminals.
