Kubota BX2360 Engine Troubleshooting

Engine hard to start or doesn't start: Fuel filter element is clogged. Change the filter element. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Defective or clogged injection nozzle. If necessary, replace with a new nozzle. Fuel injection pump is not operating properly. Repair or install new pump.

Engine stops running suddenly: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Adjust according to specifications. Fuel filter element is dirty. Clean or change the filter. Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature. Warm up the engine.

Engine starts but immediately stalls: Fuel filter element clogging. Replace filter element. Fuel injection pump malfunction. Change or repair the pump. Clogged air cleaner. Clean or replace element.

Engine is overheated: Radiator core is clogged or radiator cap is leaking. Clean radiator or change cap. Engine has a lack of coolant. The cooling system needs to be refilled and checked for faults. Loose or defective fan belt. Belt change is required. Engine oil insufficient. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.

Diesel power loss: Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Install a new kit of correctly balanced nozzles. Restricted fuel hoses or lines. Service fuel lines and hoses. Intake air restriction. Air filter maintenance required. Cylinder head gasket is damaged. Gasket should be replaced.

Engine noise or knocking: Engine is cold. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Engine oil level low. Check and refill engine oil. Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing. Change transmission oil or top up to proper level. Stuck relief valve. Replace the valve. Transmission components are damaged or worn. Check internal transmission parts for damage or wear and replace if required.

Transmission oil overheats: Excessive transmission load. The load should be reduced. Cooling components are plugged or defective. Inspect all cooling components and replace or repair if necessary. Hydraulic system overheating: Hydraulic fluid type is wrong. Use correct type of hydraulic fluid. Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Air trapped in hydraulic system. Bleed air from system. Defective main relief valve. Relief valve must be changed.

Low hydraulic system pressure: Low hydraulic fluid level. Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level. Dirty hydraulic oil filter element. Install a new hydraulic filter element. Check and adjust toe-in. Steering linkage parts are loose or worn. Change or repair steering linkage. Improperly adjusted or defective front hub bearings. Adjust correctly or change bearings.
