Engine starts hard or will not start: Clogged fuel filter. Service or replace the filter. Air trapped in fuel system. Bleed air. Fuel injection nozzles are clogged or faulty. Check and replace nozzles if required. Fuel injection pump malfunction. Replace injection pump or repair it.
Engine shuts off suddenly while running: Improper fuel injection timing. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Fuel filter plugged. Clean the filter element. Low coolant temperature. Warm up the engine.
Engine starts but stalls immediately: Fuel filter element clogging. Replace the filter element. Fuel injection pump is not operating properly. Change or repair the pump. Air cleaner is dirty. Replace air filter element.

Hydrostatic transmission makes excessive noise: Worn or unadjusted speed control linkage. Adjust or install new linkage. Excessive transmission load. Reduce loading. Dirty transmission fluid or insufficient fluid level. Top up to proper level or change transmission fluid. Relief valve is damaged. Install a new valve. Damaged or worn components of hydrostatic transmission. Check hydrostatic transmission components for defect or damage and change if necessary.
Transmission oil overheats: Excessive loading. The load should be reduced. Clogged or damaged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and replace or repair if necessary. Transmission fluid level is low. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Dirty transmission fluid filter. Replace or service transmission fluid filter.
