Engine stops running suddenly: Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect. Set up as recommended. Dirty fuel filter. Replace filter element. Engine is cold. Warm up to required temperature.

Diesel starts but immediately stops: Fuel filter plugging. Replace filter element. Fuel injection pump damage. Replacement or repair required. Clogged air cleaner. Carry out maintenance on air filter.

Engine overheats: Defective radiator cap or clogged radiator fins. Clean radiator or replace cap. Coolant level is low. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt is broken or worn. Install new fan belt. Engine oil level low. Add oil to the engine crankcase.

Diesel engine loses power: Defective or clogged injection nozzle. Replace injection nozzles. Restricted fuel lines or hoses. Fuel hoses and lines must be clean. Intake air restriction. Service or replace the air filter. Damaged cylinder-head gasket. Gasket should be replaced.

Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise: Coolant temperature is low. Warm up engine as required. Not enough engine oil. Fill up the oil to required level. Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set up as recommended. Pistons are worn or scored. Pistons need to be replaced. Connecting rod is worn or misaligned. Replace or align connecting rod.

Engine stops while idling: Incorrectly set low idle speed. Adjust low idling as recommended. Excessive valve clearance. Check and adjust. Defective fuel injection pump. Replacement or repair required.

Oil pressure too low: Oil level is low. Fill crankcase to proper oil level. Defective oil pump. Remove and inspect oil pump. Oil filter clogging. Service or replace engine oil filter.

Kubota L225 Transmission Troubleshooting

Transmission noises: Worn gears or incorrect backlash. Change the gears or set backlash properly. Worn or damaged gear shift forks. Replace the shift forks. Shaft splines are stuck or worn out. Replace the shaft. Transmission oil insufficient. Need to add transmission oil. Worn or cracked bearings. Change faulty bearings. Transmission fluid contamination. Change the fluid.

Gear hard to shift: Gear shift linkage is rusty or worn. Change or lubricate shift linkage. Unadjusted or worn clutch. Adjust clutch or replace if required. Shift forks are worn or bent. Install new shift forks. Worn out parts of the gearshift mechanism. Replace worn parts.

Insufficient transmission fluid pressure: Low oil level. Need to add transmission oil. Transmission fluid filter element is clogged (if equipped). Replace or service transmission fluid filter. Stuck relief valve. Replace relief valve as required.

Transmission oil leaking: Damaged gaskets or seals. Seals and gaskets need to be replaced. Transmission oil level is exceeded. Correct the oil volume.

Kubota L225 Hydraulic System Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system is too hot: Incorrect type of hydraulic oil. The correct type of oil must be used. Dirty hydraulic oil. The oil must be changed. Air trapped in hydraulic system. Bleed air from system. Defective main relief valve. Relief valve need to be replaced.

Hydraulic fluid pressure is low: Insufficient hydraulic fluid. Add fluid as required. Clogged hydraulic fluid filter. Clean or replace the hydraulic filter. Leaking hydraulic lines. Find leaks in the system and fix it. Hydraulic control valve block is set improperly. Set properly. Hydraulic pump failure. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Repair or install a new hydraulic cylinder.

3-point hitch fails to lift or lifts slowly: Hydraulic pump is defective. Change or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Main relief valve malfunction. Replace relief valve. Hydraulic control valve is defective. Repair or replace the valve. Hydraulic cylinder not working. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder. Low hydraulic oil level. Checking hydraulic oil level and add if necessary. Hydraulic fluid filter element is clogged. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Excessive hitch loading. Reduce loading.

3-point hitch does not lower or lowers very slowly: Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Install a new hydraulic cylinder or repair it. Hydraulic control valve is not set properly. Adjust properly. Damaged hitch cross shaft. Replace the shaft. The hitch is not adjusted. Adjustment is required.

Hitch lifting or lowering is jerky: Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Defective hydraulic pump. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Damaged hydraulic control valve. Repair or replace the valve. Broken hydraulic cylinder. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder.

Kubota L225 Steering Troubleshooting

Excessive play in steering: Steering column bearing or shaft is extremely worn out. Change defective components. Worn or loose steering linkage joints. Inspect and replace as required. Worn steering gearbox bearings. Bearings should be changed. Change knuckles or hub bearings.

Heavy steering: Steering column shaft or knuckle is stuck. Replace steering column or knuckle if faulty. Worn steering box components. Repair steering box. Damaged drag link or tie rod. Change or repair. Lack of lubrication in steering box. Lubricate the steering gearbox. Improper toe-in alignment. Low tire pressure. Inflate the tires.

Tractor is pulling to right or left: Worn or loose steering linkage assembly. Check and change as required. Damaged steering knuckle bushing. Change knuckle bushing. Uneven tire pressure. Inflate the tires properly. Improper toe-in. Adjust toe-in properly.

Kubota L225 Electrical System Troubleshooting

Battery is not charging: Wiring connections are corroded or loose. Tighten or clean electrical wiring connections. Defective battery terminal clamps. Replace terminal clamps. Battery bad cell. Install a new battery. Worn or loose belt. Replace belt or adjust belt tension.

Starter cranks slow: Low battery power. Low battery charging, charge as required. Battery does not hold charge. Service charging system or install new battery. Faulty battery terminals or disconnected cables. Connect cables correctly or replace terminals.

Starter doesn't crank: Battery is drained or worn. Recharge or change battery. Disconnected or improperly connected wiring harness. Inspect battery wiring harness and connect as required. Battery power is low. Recharge the battery. Faulty starter motor. Repair or change starter.
