Diesel shuts off while driving: Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Fuel filter element is dirty. Filter maintenance required. Engine not warmed up. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature.
Diesel starts and stalls immediately: Fuel filter element clogging. Clean the filter element. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Rebuild or install a new injection pump. Clogged air filter element. Clean or replace the element.
Engine overheated: Clogged radiator core or leaking radiator cap. Change cap or clean radiator. Low engine coolant. Add coolant fluid and inspect the cooling system for leaks. Loose or defective fan belt. Change the fan belt. Engine oil insufficient. Fill up the engine oil.
Lack of engine power: Clogged or defective injection nozzles. Service or change injection nozzles. Fuel hoses or lines are dirty. Fuel lines and hoses need to be cleaned. Dirty air cleaner. Change air filter element. Defective cylinder head gasket. Install a new gasket.
Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise: Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Warm up engine as required. Engine oil level is low. Check oil level and add oil as required. Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Scored or worn pistons. Replace the pistons. Connecting rod is worn or misaligned. Connecting rod needs to be replaced or aligned.
Engine stops at idle: Low idle speed set incorrectly. Test and adjust. Improper valve clearance. Adjustment procedure required. Defective fuel injection pump. Change pump or rebuild it.
Oil pressure is low: Engine oil level low. Fill up the engine oil. Oil pump is worn or damaged. Remove and inspect oil pump. Oil filter clogged. Service or change engine oil filter element.
Kubota L245 Transmission Troubleshooting
Transmission is making noise: Gears are defective or backlash is improper. Install new gears and adjust backlash properly. Worn or bent shift forks. Replace defective shift forks. Stuck or worn shaft splines. Shaft need to be changed. Low oil level. Fill the transmission housing to proper oil level. Bearings are cracked or worn. Install new bearings. Transmission oil contamination. Fill up with fresh transmission oil.
Gear shift is hard: Stuck or worn gear shift linkage. Install a new gear shift linkage. Improperly adjusted or worn clutch. Adjust clutch or change if necessary. Worn or bent gear shift forks. Replace defective shift forks. Worn parts of the gear shifting mechanism. Change worn parts.
Low transmission oil pressure: Transmission fluid level is low. Add fluid to the transmission housing. Transmission oil filter element clogging (if equipped). Clean or change transmission oil filter. Relief valve is damaged. Install a new relief valve.
Transmission oil leaks: Seals or gaskets are worn. Seals and gaskets replacement required. High transmission oil level. Correct the oil level.
Kubota L245 Hydraulics Troubleshooting
Hydraulic system overheated: Hydraulic oil type is wrong. Correct type of oil must be used. Contaminated hydraulic fluid. Change hydraulic fluid. Air in hydraulic system. Bleed air from hydraulic system. Main relief valve malfunction. Relief valve must be changed.
Hydraulic oil pressure too low: Low hydraulic oil level. Checking hydraulic oil level and add if necessary. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Leaking hydraulic lines. Check the hydraulic system and fix leaks. Hydraulic control valve block is out of adjustment. Control valve needs to be adjusted. Hydraulic pump is faulty. Change or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Install a new hydraulic cylinder or repair it.
3-point hitch cannot be raised or raising is too slowly: Hydraulic pump malfunction. Repair or replace hydraulic oil pump. Main relief valve malfunctioning. Relief valve replacement required. Faulty hydraulic control valve. Repair or change hydraulic valve. Broken hydraulic cylinder. Repair or replace hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic fluid is insufficient. Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level. Clogged hydraulic fluid filter. Service the hydraulic filter or change if required. Excessive load on hitch. Reduce the load is required.
Hitch cannot be lowered or lowering is too slowly: Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder. Not adjusted hydraulic control valve. Need to adjust. Hitch rock shaft is worn. Change the shaft. The 3-point hitch is not adjusted. The three-point hitch must be adjusted.
Hitch drop or lift is jerky: Contaminated hydraulic fluid. Change hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic pump failure. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. There is air in the hydraulic system. Bleed hydraulic system. Damaged hydraulic spool valve. Change or repair hydraulic valve. Defective hydraulic cylinder. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder.
Kubota L245 Steering System Troubleshooting
Excessive play in steering: Worn steering column bearing or shaft. Replace defective parts. Loose or worn steering linkage components. Inspect and change as required. Worn steering gearbox bearings. Bearings should be changed. Replace knuckles or hub bearings.
Steering is stiff: Steering column shaft or knuckle is stuck. Replace knuckle and steering column if defective. Worn steering gear box parts. Repair steering box. Faulty tie rod or drag link. Rebuild or change. Insufficient lubrication in steering box. Need to lubricate the gearbox. Incorrect toe-in alignment. Tire pressure is improper. Inflate the tires properly.
Front wheels wander to right or left: Loose or worn steering linkage components. Inspect and change as required. Worn steering knuckle bushing. Replace knuckle bushing. Tire pressure uneven. Inflate the tires correctly. Incorrect toe-in. Check and adjust toe-in.
Kubota L245 Electrical Troubleshooting
Battery won’t charge: Wiring connections are corroded or loose. Tighten or clean connections. Battery terminal clamps are defective. Change terminal clamps. Battery faulty cell. Replace the battery. Worn or loose belt. Change belt or adjust belt tension.
