Engine difficult to start or won't start: Dirty fuel filter. Install new filter element. Air in the fuel pipes. Bleed the fuel pipes. Fuel injection nozzles are faulty or clogged. Replace injection nozzles. Defective fuel injection pump. Change or repair the pump.

Engine stops suddenly during operation: Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust as recommended. Fuel filter plugged. Install new filter element. Engine is not fully warmed up. Warm up to required temperature.

Diesel starts and stalls immediately: Dirty fuel filter. Clean or change the filter. Fuel injection pump is damaged. Change pump or rebuild it. Dirty air filter. Change air filter element.

Engine is overheated: Clogged radiator fins or damaged radiator cap. Install new cap or clean radiator. Low engine coolant. Add coolant and check the components of cooling system. Fan belt is worn or faulty. Change as required. Low engine oil level. Fill up the engine oil.

Engine lacks power: Fuel injection nozzles fault. Inspect nozzles and replace if necessary. Dirt in the fuel lines or hoses. Service fuel lines and hoses. Air filter element clogged. Service air cleaner. Defective cylinder head gasket. Replace the gasket as required.

Abnormal engine knocking or noise: Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Warm up the engine. Not enough engine oil. Checking oil level and add if necessary.
