Kubota L3240 Diesel Engine Troubleshooting
Engine difficult to start or will not start: Fuel filter plugged. Change the filter element. There is air in the fuel system. Bleed the system. Fuel injection nozzles are clogged or faulty. Replace injection nozzles. Defective fuel injection pump. Rebuild or replace pump.
Engine stops suddenly during operation: Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust according to specifications. Fuel filter element clogging. Install new filter element. Engine is cold. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Diesel starts and stops: Dirty fuel filter. Replace the filter element. Fuel injection pump is broken. Rebuild or install a new injection pump. Air filter element clogged. Change air filter element.
Engine is overheated: Clogged radiator core or damaged radiator cap. Clean radiator or install new cap. Engine has a lack of coolant. Fill radiator to proper level and check components for faults.
