Kubota L3350 Diesel Engine Troubleshooting
Engine difficult to start or will not start: Clogged fuel filter. Change filter element. Air in the fuel pipes. Bleed the fuel pipes. Fuel injection nozzles are faulty or clogged. Check injection nozzles and replace if required. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Install a new fuel pump or repair.
Engine stalls after running: Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Fuel filter plugged. Clean or change the filter. Engine is not preheated. Warm up to required temperature.
Engine starts but then stops: Dirty fuel filter. Install new filter element. Fuel injection pump malfunction. Repair or change injection pump. Dirty air filter element. Clean or change.
Engine is overheated: Dirty radiator fins or faulty radiator cap. Clean radiator or replace cap. Not enough coolant. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt is broken or worn. The fan belt needs to be replaced. Insufficient engine oil. Need to add engine oil.
Diesel power loss: Fuel injection nozzles are clogged or faulty. Clean or change injection nozzles. Dirty fuel hoses or lines. Service fuel lines and hoses. Dirty air cleaner. Replace air filter element. Cylinder-head gasket is leaking. Install a new gasket.
Engine knocking or noise: Engine is not preheated. Warm up to required temperature. Engine oil level low. Fill up the oil to required level. Improper fuel injection timing. Adjust as recommended. Hydraulic system overheated: Hydraulic oil type is incorrect. Pour the correct type of oil. Hydraulic fluid contamination. Change hydraulic fluid. Air in hydraulic system. Bleed air from hydraulic system. Main relief valve is defective. Relief valve must be changed.
