Kubota L3830 Diesel Engine Troubleshooting
Engine difficult to start or will not start: Fuel filter plugging. Clean or replace the filter. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Fuel injection nozzles are clogged or faulty. Replace injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump is damaged. Rebuild or replace pump.
Engine shuts off while running: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Fuel filter plugging. Replace the filter element. Engine not warmed up. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Engine starts and immediately shuts off: Fuel filter element is clogged. Install new filter element. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Repair or change injection pump. Plugged air filter. Air filter maintenance required.
Engine is overheated: Dirty radiator fins or faulty radiator cap. Replace cap or clean radiator. Engine coolant is insufficient. The cooling system needs to be refilled and checked for faults. Loose or defective fan belt. Install new fan belt. Not enough engine oil. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
