Kubota L4060 Engine Troubleshooting

Engine difficult to start or doesn't start: Fuel filter element is clogged. Service the filter. Air in fuel tank. Bleed fuel tank. Defective or clogged injection nozzle. Clean or replace injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump is broken. Rebuild or install a new injection pump.

Engine stops unexpectedly during operation: Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect. Use the correct fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Fuel filter element clogging. Change filter element. Engine is cold. Warm up the engine.

Engine stalls after starting: Fuel filter element is clogged. Service or replace the filter. Fuel injection pump is defective. Repair or install new pump. Air filter plugged. Service air cleaner.

Engine is overheated: Radiator core is dirty or radiator cap is damaged. Clean radiator or change cap. Low engine coolant. Add coolant and check the components of cooling system. Fan belt is broken or worn. Belt change is required. Lack of engine oil. Add oil to the engine crankcase.

Diesel engine is losing power: Damaged or dirty injection nozzles. Service or change injection nozzles. Fuel hoses or lines clogging. Clean fuel hoses and lines. Clogged air cleaner. Carry out maintenance on air filter. Leaking cylinder head gasket. Gasket should be replaced.

Transmission fluid overheats: Transmission overload. The load should be reduced. Cooling components are defective or plugged. Check all cooling components and repair or change if required. Transmission oil level is low. Check transmission oil level and add oil as required. Dirty transmission fluid filter element. Service or replace the transmission fluid filter.

Lack of power: Transmission fluid level is low. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Relief valve failure. Replace valve as required. Speed control pedal linkage is bent or not adjusted. Replace or adjust linkage.
