Kubota L4150 Diesel Engine Troubleshooting

Engine starts hard or will not start: Fuel filter element is clogged. Clean or change the filter. Air in the fuel pipes. Bleed the fuel pipes. Damaged or dirty injection nozzles. Check and replace nozzles if required. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Replace injection pump or repair it.

Engine shuts off suddenly during operation: Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust the pump as required. Fuel filter element is dirty. Replace the filter element. Low coolant temperature. Warm up engine as required.

Diesel starts but stalls suddenly: Fuel filter plugging. Install new filter element. Fuel injection pump is defective. Change pump or rebuild it. Dirty air cleaner. Service or replace the air filter.

Engine overheats: Damaged radiator cap or dirty radiator core. Replace cap or clean radiator. Low engine coolant. Top up coolant fluid and check system for leaks. Damaged or worn fan belt. Replace as required. Engine oil level is insufficient. Fill up the engine oil.
