Kubota LX3310 Engine Troubleshooting
Engine starts up hard or won't start: Clogged fuel filter. Install new filter element. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Dirty or damaged injection nozzles. Change fuel injection nozzles. Defective fuel injection pump. Rebuild or change fuel pump.
Diesel shuts off while driving: Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Fuel filter element clogging. Clean the filter element. Engine is not fully warmed up. Warm up the engine.
Diesel starts but then stops: Fuel filter element is clogged. Change filter element. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Install a new fuel pump or repair. Dirty air filter. Replace air filter element.
Engine is overheated: Dirty radiator fins or defective radiator cap. Install new cap or clean radiator. Engine coolant is insufficient. Fill radiator to proper level and check components for faults. Broken or loose fan belt. The fan belt needs to be replaced. Engine oil level is low. Checking oil level and add if necessary.
Engine power loss: Clogged injection nozzle. If necessary, replace with a new nozzle. Fuel hoses or lines are clogged. Fuel lines and hoses need to be cleaned. Air filter element clogged. Clean air cleaner element. Worn cylinder head gasket. Gasket should be replaced.
Engine noises or knocks: Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Warm up engine as required. Engine oil level is low. Need to add engine oil. Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Adjust as recommended. Pistons are worn or broken. Pistons replacement required. Connecting rod is worn or not aligned. Align or replace connecting rod.

Hydrostatic transmission is excessively noisy: Speed control pedal linkage is damaged or out of adjustment. Repair or adjust linkage. Excessive transmission load. Reduce loading. Transmission fluid is dirty or fluid level is too low. Pour fresh fluid or add transmission fluid to proper level. Stuck relief valve. Install a new valve. Worn or defective parts of the hydrostatic transmission. Change or repair defective parts.
Transmission fluid overheats: Transmission overloaded. Reduce transmission load. Clogged or damaged cooling components. Inspect all cooling components and service or replace if necessary. Transmission fluid leaks: Clogged transmission fluid return pipe. Clean or change return pipe. Seals or gaskets are worn. Seals and gaskets need to be replaced. High internal transmission housing pressure. Replace worn components.

Hydraulic system is overheated: Hydraulic oil type is wrong. Correct type of oil must be used. Hydraulic oil contamination. Change the oil. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Damaged main relief valve. Relief valve replacement required.
