Engine shuts off suddenly while running: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Fuel filter plugged. Replace the filter element. Coolant temperature is low. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature.
Engine starts but immediately stalls: Dirty fuel filter. Clean or change the filter. Damaged fuel injection pump. Repair or change injection pump. Air cleaner is dirty. Clean or change the filter.
Engine overheating: Dirty radiator fins or defective radiator cap. Install new cap or clean radiator. Engine coolant is insufficient. Top up coolant fluid and check system for leaks. Excessive wear of the fan belt. Replace the fan belt. Engine oil level is insufficient. Check and refill engine oil.

Battery is not charging: Corroded or loose electrical wire connections. Clean or tighten connections. Electrical terminal connectors are defective. Terminal connectors should be replaced. Bad cell in battery. Install a new battery. Worn or loose belt. Need to adjust belt tension or replace belt.
Starter turns slowly: Battery capacity is low. Battery is drained, charge it. Battery does not hold charge. Battery needs service or replacement. Disconnected wires or corroded battery terminals. Check cable connections and change or clean terminals.
