Kubota M105X Engine Troubleshooting

Engine starts up hard or won't start: Fuel filter plugged. Service the filter. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Clogged injection nozzle. Clean or change injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump is not operating properly. Rebuild or replace pump.

Engine stops suddenly during operation: Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Set it up as required. Clogged fuel filter. Replace the filter element. Engine is cold. Warm up to required temperature.

Diesel starts and then shuts off: Fuel filter element clogging. Clean the filter element. Defective fuel injection pump. Repair or install a new fuel pump. Plugged air cleaner. Clean or change.

Engine overheats: Radiator core is clogged or radiator cap is leaking. Install new cap or clean radiator. Engine coolant is insufficient. Add coolant fluid and inspect the cooling system for leaks. Damaged or worn fan belt. Replace the fan belt. Insufficient engine oil. Fill up the oil to required level.

Poor engine power: Fuel injection nozzles fault. Clean or change injection nozzles. Fuel lines or hoses are clogged. Clean fuel lines and hoses. Air filter element clogged. Clean or replace the element. Cylinder head gasket is worn. Install a new gasket.

Engine knocking or noise: Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Lack of engine oil. Fill up the oil to required level. Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Worn or scored pistons. Replace the pistons as required. Connecting rod failure or misalignment. Need to change or align the connecting rod.

Engine stops while idle: Incorrectly set low idle speed. Correct low idle adjustment. The valve clearance is incorrect. Check and adjust. Fuel injection pump is not working correctly. Replace injection pump or repair it.

Oil pressure is low: Oil level is low. Fill up the engine oil. Worn oil pump. Inspect and change as required. Oil filter element clogged. Service or change engine oil filter element.

Transmission makes noise: Gears are damaged or backlash is incorrect. Change worn gears or adjust backlash correctly. Worn or bent gear shift forks. Shift forks need to be changed. Shaft splines are worn or damaged. Replace defective shaft. Transmission fluid level is low. Checking transmission fluid level and add if necessary. Worn or cracked bearings. Bearings need to be replaced. Transmission fluid is contaminated. Fill up with fresh transmission fluid.

Hard to shift gears: Corroded or worn gear shift linkage. Install a new gear shift linkage. Malfunction or incorrect clutch adjustment. Change or adjust clutch. Worn or damaged gear shift forks. Change defective shift forks. Worn out parts of the gearshift mechanism. Replace worn parts.

Transmission oil pressure is insufficient: Transmission oil level is low. Check transmission oil level and add oil as required. Clogged transmission oil filter element (if fitted). Clean or replace the transmission filter. Stuck relief valve. Replace valve as required.

Transmission fluid leakage: Damaged gaskets or seals. Install new gaskets or seal. Transmission oil level is high. Correct the oil volume.

Kubota M105X Hydraulics Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system overheated: Wrong type of hydraulic oil. Pour the correct type of hydraulic oil. Dirty hydraulic oil. The oil must be changed. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Main relief valve is faulty. Relief valve replacement required.

Hydraulic oil pressure is insufficient: Insufficient hydraulic oil. Check and refill the hydraulic oil. Clogged hydraulic fluid filter. Hydraulic filter maintenance required. Battery won’t charge: Electrical cable connections are corroded or loose. Tighten or service cable connections. Battery terminal clamps are faulty. Terminal clamps should be changed. Dead cell in battery. Install a new battery. Belt is defective or loose. Adjust belt tension or replace belt.

Starter motor turns slow: Low battery output voltage. Battery is drained, charge it. Battery does not hold charge. Service or replace the battery. Terminals are faulty or battery cables are disconnected. Check cables and service or change terminals.
