Kubota M108X Engine Troubleshooting
Engine difficult to start or will not start: Dirty fuel filter. Clean or replace the filter. Air in fuel system. Bleed fuel system. Fuel injection nozzles fault. Test injection nozzles and change if necessary. Fuel injection pump failure. Rebuild or install a new injection pump.
Engine shuts off suddenly while running: Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Set it up as required. Fuel filter element is clogged. Change the filter element. Engine not warmed up. Warm up engine as required.
Engine starts but then stalls: Fuel filter plugging. Filter maintenance required. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Replacement or repair required. Air cleaner is dirty. Clean or change.
Engine overheating: Dirty radiator fins or faulty radiator cap. Clean radiator or install new cap. Not enough coolant. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Broken or loose fan belt. Install new fan belt. Engine oil level low. Check oil level and add oil as required.
Loss of engine power: Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Clean or change injection nozzles. Dirt in the fuel hoses or lines. Clean fuel system lines and hoses. Air filter element clogged. Replace air filter element. Blown cylinder head gasket. Gasket should be replaced.
Engine knocks or noises: Engine is not preheated. Warm up engine as required. Low engine oil level. Fill up the engine oil. Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Adjust according to specifications. Pistons are worn or broken. Pistons need to be replaced. Connecting rod is misaligned or worn. Align or replace connecting rod.

Not adjusted toe-in. Adjust toe-in wheels. Steering linkage joints are worn or loose. Inspect and change as required. Defective or improperly adjusted front wheel bearings. Battery cannot be charged: Loose or corroded electrical wiring connections. Tighten or service connections. Defective battery terminal clamps. Terminal clamps need to be replaced. Battery is defective. Change the battery. Belt is damaged or loose. Belt needs to be adjusted or replaced.
