Engine hard to start or won't start: Fuel filter plugging. Service or replace the filter. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Fuel injection nozzles are faulty or clogged. Clean or change injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump failure. Rebuild or change fuel pump.

Engine stalls while running: Improper fuel injection timing. Adjust as recommended. Fuel filter element clogging. Change filter element. Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature. Warm up engine as required.

Diesel starts and then shuts off: Fuel filter plugged. Change the filter element. Fuel injection pump is not operating properly. Repair or install new pump. Dirty air cleaner. Clean or change.

Engine overheats: Clogged radiator fins or damaged radiator cap. Change cap or clean radiator. Low engine coolant. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Broken or loose fan belt. Change as required. Not enough engine oil. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.

Engine power is too low: Fuel injection nozzles fault. Clean or replace injection nozzles. Clogged fuel hoses or lines. Clean fuel hoses and lines. Air filter is clogged. Clean or replace element. Cylinder head gasket defective. Gasket should be replaced.

Engine knocking sound or abnormal noise: Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Engine oil level low. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Improper setting of fuel injection pump timing. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Pistons are broken or worn. Have pistons replaced. Excessive hydraulic system heat: Improper hydraulic oil type. The proper type of hydraulic oil must be used. Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Main relief valve malfunctioning. Replace relief valve.
