Engine starts but stops suddenly: Fuel filter element clogging. Service or replace the filter. Defective fuel injection pump. Change pump or rebuild it. Plugged air cleaner. Clean or change.

Engine overheats: Clogged radiator fins or leaking radiator cap. Clean radiator or replace cap. Engine has a lack of coolant. Refill to the correct level and inspect system for leaks. Damaged or worn fan belt. Fan belt must be replaced. Low engine oil level. Need to add engine oil.

Engine lacks power: Faulty fuel injection nozzles. Inspect nozzles and replace if necessary. Fuel lines or hoses are dirty. Service fuel hoses and lines. Intake air restriction. Clean air cleaner element. Damaged cylinder-head gasket. Replace the gasket as required.

Abnormal engine noise or knocking: Low coolant temperature. Warm up the engine. Not enough engine oil. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing. Set it up as required. Pistons are worn or broken. Replace the pistons. Misaligned or defective connecting rod. Alignment procedure or replacement is required.

Engine stops when idling: Incorrectly adjusted low idle speed. Adjustment required. Improper valve clearance. Check and adjust as required. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Rebuild or replace pump.

Low oil pressure: Low crankcase oil level. Fill up the engine oil. Oil pump is damaged. Check and replace if necessary. Oil filter is clogged. Replace or service engine oil filter.

Kubota M6-101 Transmission Troubleshooting

Transmission makes noise: Damaged gears or incorrect backlash. Install new gears and set backlash correctly. Worn or bent shift forks. Change the shift forks. Shaft splines are worn or stuck. Replace the shaft. Transmission oil insufficient. Fill up the transmission oil. Worn or broken bearings. Change faulty bearings. Transmission fluid contamination. Transmission fluid change required.

Difficult to shift gears: Gear shift linkage is rusty or worn. Change or lubricate shift linkage. Unadjusted or worn clutch. Clutch needs to be adjusted or changed. Damaged or worn gear shift forks. Install new shift forks. Gearshift mechanism is damaged. Replace or repair the mechanism.

Low transmission fluid pressure: Insufficient transmission fluid. Fill the transmission housing to proper fluid level. Transmission oil filter is clogged (if fitted). Clean or replace the transmission filter. Relief valve malfunction. Install a new valve.

Transmission oil leaks: Damaged gaskets or seals. Seals and gaskets replacement required. Transmission fluid level is high. Correct the fluid level.

Kubota M6-101 Hydraulic System Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system overheated: Improper type of hydraulic oil. Use the proper type of oil. Hydraulic fluid is dirty. Hydraulic fluid change required. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Main relief valve is damaged. Relief valve must be changed.

Low hydraulic fluid pressure: Hydraulic fluid level low. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Clogged hydraulic oil filter element. Clean the hydraulic filter element or replace if necessary. Hydraulic piping is leaking. Find leaks in the system and fix it. Not adjusted hydraulic spool valve. Need to adjust spool valve. Damaged hydraulic pump. Repair or replace hydraulic fluid pump. Damaged hydraulic cylinder. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder.

3-point hitch won't lift or lifts slowly: Defective hydraulic pump. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Damaged main relief valve. Install a new relief valve. Hydraulic control valve block is faulty. Repair or replace hydraulic valve. Hydraulic cylinder is defective. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder. Insufficient hydraulic fluid. Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level. Dirty hydraulic oil filter element. Clean or replace the hydraulic filter. Excessive loading on the hitch. Reduce hitch load.

Three-point hitch cannot be dropped or dropping is too slow: Faulty hydraulic cylinder. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder. Incorrect setting hydraulic spool valve. Use the correct setting. Worn lift arm shaft. Install a new shaft. The 3-point hitch is not adjusted. Need to make adjustments.

Hitch drop or lift is jerky: Hydraulic fluid is dirty. Hydraulic fluid change required. Hydraulic pump is defective. Replace or repair hydraulic oil pump. There is air in the hydraulic system. Bleed hydraulic system. Defective hydraulic spool valve. Install a new hydraulic valve or repair it. Faulty hydraulic cylinder. Replace or repair hydraulic cylinder.

Kubota M6-101 Steering System Troubleshooting

Excessive steering wheel free play: Steering column coupling or shaft is worn. Replace faulty part. Steering pump stopped working. Steering pump needs to be replaced or repaired. Steering linkage joints are worn or loose. Change or repair steering linkage. Hydrostatic steering unit has damage or wear. Check and replace as required.

Steering wheel is very heavy to turn: Air in steering hydraulic system. Bleed air. Steering filter is dirty. Change steering filter element. Steering oil level low. Add oil to steering system. Hydrostatic steering unit is worn or defective. Replace or repair steering unit as required. Steering pump failure. Install a new hydraulic steering pump. Stuck or worn pump flow control valve. Replace or service control valve. Improperly mounted or worn steering column. Mount the steering column as required or change it. Uneven tyre pressure. Inflate the tyres properly. Incorrect toe-in. Check and adjust toe-in. Steering cylinder is leaking. Replace damaged piston seals or worn piston rod.
