Engine hard to start or won't start: Fuel filter element is dirty. Filter maintenance required. Air in the fuel lines. Bleed the fuel lines. Defective or clogged injection nozzle. Replace injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Repair or replace injection pump.

Engine stalls after running: Fuel injection pump timing is wrong. Adjust the pump as required. Fuel filter plugging. Replace the filter element. Coolant temperature is low. Warm up engine as required.

Engine starts but immediately stalls: Fuel filter element is dirty. Change filter element. Fuel injection pump is not working correctly. Replace or repair injection pump. Air filter clogged. Clean air cleaner element.

Engine overheats: Dirty radiator core or faulty radiator cap. Clean radiator or install new cap. Insufficient coolant fluid. Fill the cooling system and check components for leaks or other faults. Fan belt is loose or defective. If necessary, replace the belt. Engine oil level is insufficient. Fill the crankcase with engine oil.

Diesel engine loses power: Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Install a new kit of correctly balanced nozzles. Dirt in the fuel lines or hoses. Clean fuel system hoses and lines. Plugged air filter. Service air cleaner. Cylinder head gasket is worn. Replace the gasket as required.

Abnormal engine knocking or noise: Engine has not warmed up to the recommended temperature. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine. Lack of engine oil. Fill up the oil to required level.
