Kubota M95X Engine Troubleshooting

Engine starts hard or will not start: Clogged fuel filter. Service the filter. Air in fuel system. Bleed fuel system. Clogged or defective injection nozzles. Check and replace nozzles if required. Fuel injection pump is broken. Install a new fuel pump or repair.

Engine stalls after running: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Fuel filter plugging. Replace the filter element. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature. Warm up the engine.

Engine starts but stalls suddenly: Fuel filter element is clogged. Clean the filter element. Damaged fuel injection pump. Repair or replace injection pump. Intake air restriction. Service or replace the air filter.

Engine is overheated: Radiator core is clogged or radiator cap is leaking. Clean radiator or replace cap. Engine has a lack of coolant. Fill the cooling system and check components for leaks or other faults. Fan belt is worn or faulty. Install new fan belt. Lack of engine oil. Fill up the engine oil.

Loss of engine power: Faulty or dirty injection nozzles. If necessary, replace with a new nozzle. Dirty fuel hoses or lines. Clean fuel hoses and lines. Air filter is dirty. Air filter maintenance required. Cylinder head gasket defective. Install new cylinder head gasket.

Engine noise or knocking: Engine not warmed up. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine. Engine oil level low. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Improper fuel injection timing. Adjust as recommended. Worn or scored pistons. Pistons need to be replaced. Misaligned or faulty connecting rod. Align or change connecting rod.

Engine stalls while idling: Low idle speed setting is incorrect. Correct the settings. Valve clearance is out of adjustment. Need to adjust valve clearance. Damaged fuel injection pump. Rebuild or install a new injection pump.

Transmission is making noise: Defective gears or improper backlash. Install new gears and set backlash correctly. Worn or bent shift forks. Change defective shift forks. Shaft splines are worn or damaged. Change the shaft. Lack of transmission fluid. Fill the transmission housing to proper fluid level. Worn or broken bearings. Change faulty bearings. Transmission oil is dirty. Change the oil.

Gear hard to shift: Gear shift linkage is worn or rusty. Change or lubricate shift linkage. Malfunction or incorrect clutch adjustment. Change or adjust clutch. Worn or bent gear shift forks. Shift forks need to be replaced. Gearshift mechanism is damaged. Replace or repair the mechanism.

Transmission oil pressure is insufficient: Lack of transmission fluid. Checking transmission fluid level and add if necessary. Transmission oil filter element clogging (if equipped). Clean or replace the transmission filter. Relief valve is damaged. Change relief valve.

Transmission oil leaks: Damaged seals or gaskets. Change defective seal or gaskets. Too much fluid in transmission. Excess fluid must be drained.

Hydraulic system overheated: Incorrect hydraulic oil type. Use the correct type of hydraulic oil. Contaminated hydraulic fluid. Change hydraulic fluid. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Main relief valve is damaged. Relief valve replacement required.
