Insufficient transmission fluid pressure: Insufficient transmission fluid. Fill the transmission housing to proper fluid level. Transmission oil filter is clogged (if fitted). Clean or change transmission oil filter. Relief valve malfunction. Replace the valve.
Transmission oil leaking: Seals or gaskets are worn. Seals and gaskets replacement required. Too much oil in transmission. Drain the excess oil.
Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting
Hydrostatic transmission is making noise: Defective or not adjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or change linkage. Excessive transmission load. The load should be reduced. Dirty transmission fluid or insufficient fluid level. Pour fresh fluid or add transmission fluid to proper level. Stuck relief valve. Replace relief valve. Worn or defective transmission components. Change or repair defective parts.
Transmission oil over heats: Excessive transmission load. Reduce transmission load. Cooling components are clogged or damaged. Check all cooling components and change or repair if required. Insufficient transmission oil. Fill the transmission housing with oil. Transmission oil filter element clogging. Clean or change transmission oil filter.
Power is too low: Transmission fluid insufficient. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Relief valve malfunction. Install a new relief valve. Defective or not adjusted speed control pedal linkage. Adjust or repair linkage.
Transmission oil leaking: Plugged transmission fluid return tube. Service or replace return tube. Worn seals or gaskets. Gaskets or seal need to be replaced. High internal transmission housing pressure. Change defective components.
Kubota MX5400 Hydraulic System Troubleshooting
Hydraulics overheating: Incorrect hydraulic oil type. Use the correct type of hydraulic oil. Contaminated hydraulic oil. Change hydraulic oil. Air in the hydraulic system. Air bleeding. Faulty main relief valve. Relief valve need to be replaced.
Hydraulic oil pressure is insufficient: Low hydraulic fluid level. Checking hydraulic fluid level and add if necessary. Hydraulic oil filter element is clogged. Install a new hydraulic filter element. Leaks in hydraulic pipes. Find leaks in the system and fix it. Hydraulic spool valve block is not adjusted properly. The spool valve should be properly adjusted. Faulty hydraulic pump. Repair or replace hydraulic fluid pump. Hydraulic cylinder is broken. Install a new hydraulic cylinder or repair it.
Three-point hitch cannot be lifted or lifting is too slow: Hydraulic pump not working. Repair or replace hydraulic fluid pump. Defective main relief valve. Change relief valve. Defective hydraulic spool valve. Repair or replace hydraulic valve. Hydraulic cylinder is defective. Repair or install a new hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic fluid level low. Fill up the hydraulic fluid. Clogged hydraulic fluid filter. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Heavy load on the hitch. Load needs to be reduced.
3-point hitch does not lower or lowers very slowly: Hydraulic cylinder not working. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic control valve is not set properly. Adjust properly. Lift arm shaft is worn. Replace the shaft. The hitch has not been adjusted. Need to make adjustments.
Hitch lifting or lowering is jerky: Dirty hydraulic fluid. The fluid must be changed. Hydraulic pump is defective. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. Air in hydraulic lines. Bleed hydraulic lines. Hydraulic spool valve block is defective. Repair or replace the valve. Hydraulic cylinder malfunction. Change or repair hydraulic cylinder.
