Engine stops suddenly during operation: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Adjust as recommended. Clogged fuel filter. Install new filter element. Engine is not fully warmed up. Warm up to required temperature.

Diesel starts but immediately stops: Fuel filter plugging. Replace filter element. Fuel injection pump malfunctioning. Replacement or repair required. Air cleaner is dirty. Clean or replace the element.

Engine overheated: Dirty radiator fins or defective radiator cap. Replace cap or clean radiator. Low coolant level. Add coolant fluid to cooling system and also check it for leaks. Fan belt is broken or worn. The fan belt needs to be replaced. Lack of engine oil. Fill up the engine oil.

Poor engine power: Dirty or faulty injection nozzles. Inspect nozzles and replace if necessary. Restricted fuel hoses or lines. Fuel hoses and lines must be clean. Air filter is dirty. Air filter maintenance required. Cylinder head gasket is damaged. Replace the gasket as required.

Engine noise or knocking: Engine is not fully warmed up. Warm up to required temperature. Not enough engine oil. Checking oil level and add if necessary. Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect.
