Diesel engine hard to start or doesn't start: Clogged fuel filter. Replace the filter element. There is air in the fuel system. Bleed the system. Fuel injection nozzles are faulty or clogged. Service or change injection nozzles. Fuel injection pump damage. Repair or install a new fuel pump.

Engine shuts off suddenly while running: Improper fuel injection timing. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Fuel filter plugging. Change filter element. Engine not warmed up. Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.

Diesel starts but then stops: Clogged fuel filter. Clean or replace the filter. Fuel injection pump is broken. Repair or install a new fuel pump. Dirty air cleaner. Clean or replace element.

Engine overheating: Radiator core is clogged or radiator cap is leaking. Clean radiator or replace cap. Coolant level is low. Add coolant and check the components of cooling system. Loose or defective fan belt. The fan belt needs to be replaced. Engine oil level is low. Check oil level and add oil as required.
