Massey Ferguson MF 5613, 5430 hydraulic circuit right-hand cover - Repair the pump
Remove and disassemble the Massey Ferguson 5400-5600 right-hand cover.
Take out the screws (2) and disengage and remove the pump (32). Remove
the O'rings (22) (23). The locating pins (21) are force fitted into the
cover.
Clean the components, replace any found to be defective. Check that none
of the channels in the cover are obstructed. Install the locating pins
(21) (if necessary) to the cover.
On the cover, fit new O’rings (22) (23) in the recesses of the high and
low flow rate channels. Inside the cover, apply a bead C of Loctite 574
around the four pump
fixing screw holes.
Reinstall the pump on the locating pins.Smear the screws (2) with Loctite 221 and tighten to a torque of 10 -12
Nm.
Reassemble and Install the cover.
Disassembling the MF 5613, 5611 hydraulic pump
Remove and disassemble the cover.
Clamp the pump in a vice. Using paint, mark the positioning of: pump
stages, flange and plates. Take out the screws (2) (4).
Remove the closing plate (1). Remove the composite seal (3) and seal
(38). Split the low flow rate stage (37) from the flange (14).
Take out the stage and the pinion / bearings assembly (7).
Remove the pinions (8) (9) from the bearing assemblies (5) (11). Pair
the bearing assemblies. Each bearing is linked by a locating pin P.
Remove the composite seal (12) and seal (13).
Take off the flange (14), catchdog (15) and seal (16).
Loosen and remove screws (36). Take off the flange (35).
Remove the composite seal (33) and seal (34).
Split the high flow rate stage (32) from the flange (21).
Take out the bearing / pinion assembly.
Remove the pinions (28) (29) from the bearing assemblies (27) (31). Pair
the bearing assemblies. Remove the composite seal (23). Remove seal
(22).
Remove circlip (19) and drive out the bush (20).
Reassembling the Massey Ferguson 5611, 5430 hydraulic pump
Check and clean all components. Replace any defective parts. During
reassembly, the bush (20) and the seals must be systematically replaced.
Insert the bush (20) in the flange (21) using a suitable fixture and fit
and correctly position the circlip (19).
The pump comprises four bearing assemblies. The intermediary bearings
(11) (31) possess a recess (E) to allow oil to pass to the low flow rate
stage (37).
Install the bearing assembly (27) (without recess), centred by the pin
(24), in the high flow rate stage (32). Turn lubricating grooves G
towards inlet port O and
groove R of the composite seal (23) towards the flange (21).
Place pinions (28) (29) of the high flow rate stage in the bearing
assembly (27). The high flow rate pinions are larger.
Position the composite seal (23) and seal (22).
Assemble the high flow rate stage (32) on the flange (21) according to
the marks made during disassembly.
Install the bearing assembly (31) (with recess), centred by the pin
(30), in the high flow rate stage (32). Turn lubricating grooves G and
recess E towards inlet port
O, and groove R of the composite seal (33) upwards.
Position the composite seal (33) and seal (34). Assemble the flange (35)
on the high flow rate stage (32) according to the marks made during
disassembly.
Centre the flange (35). Tighten screws (36) to a torque of 40 - 47 Nm.
Reinstall the catchdog (15) on the flat of the driving pinion (28).
Position the seal (16).
Assemble the flange (14) according to the marks made before disassembly. Install the bearing assembly (11) (with recess), centred by the pin (10), in the low flow rate stage (37).
Turn lubricating grooves G and
recess E towards inlet port O,
and groove R of the composite seal (12) towards the flange (14).
Position the composite seal (12) and seal (13).
Assemble the low flow rate stage (37) on the flange (14) according to
the marks made during disassembly.
Place the pinions (8) (9) in the low flow rate stage while ensuring that
the flat of the drive pinion (9) is correctly positioned in the catchdog
(15).
Install the bearing assembly (5) (without recess), centred by the pin
(6), in the low flow rate stage (37). Turn lubricating grooves G towards
inlet port O and groove R
of the composite seal (3) towards the closing plate (1).
Position the composite seal (3) and seal (38).
Centre the low flow rate stage (37) and assemble the closing plate (1)
according to the marks made during disassembly.
Tighten screws (2) (4) to a torque of 40 - 47 Nm.
Manually check the rotation of the MF 5613, 5455 pump. Reassemble and
Install the cover.
Adjusting the engine speed sensor
Install the engine speed sensor (16), having lightly smeared the threads
with Loctite 542 or equivalent.
Screw the sensor fully home without forcing it until it makes contact with the pump pinion (29).
Then unscrew it three quarters of a turn so as to obtain a gap of approximately 1mm between the sensor and the pump pinion.
Tighten the nut (1) to a torque of 5 - 7 Nm.
