The Case TR320 compact track loader driveline system components: a 195 cu.in (3.2L) FPT F5C E5454 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power of 90 hp (67 kW) and 2-speed hydrostatic transmission. The open center hydraulic system has a pump with a rated flow of 22.5 gpm (85 lpm). The system pressure is 3000 psi (207 bar). The Case TR320 is equipped with a radial-lift loader boom, planetary reduction, and 17.7" (450 mm) rubber tracks with steel inserts. The loader has a boom lift force of 7760 lbs (3525 kg) and bucket breakout force of 8700 lbs (3955 kg). The rated operating capacity is 2240 lbs (1018 kg), and tipping load is 6400 lbs (2900 kg).
Engine Troubleshooting
Diesel engine hard to start or doesn't start
There is air in the fuel system - Bleed the system.
Fuel filter element is dirty - Clean the filter or install new filter element.
Burnt or clogged injection nozzle - If necessary, replace with a new nozzle.
Water in the fuel system - Change fuel and repair fuel system.
The valve clearance is incorrect - Adjust valve clearance.
Faulty fuel injection pump - Repair or change injection pump.
Diesel starts and suddenly stops
Clogged air cleaner - Clean or change.
Dirty fuel filter - Change or clean the filter element.
Poor fuel injection pump tightness - Look for any leaks of fuel pump, tighten it fast.
Defective or clogged fuel injectors - Replace or clean fuel injectors.
Fuel injection pump is not operating properly - Change or repair the pump.
Engine stalls after running
Coolant temperature is low - Warm up engine as required.
Clogged fuel filter - Clean or change the filter.
There is air in the fuel system - Bleed the system.
Fuel injection nozzles are damaged - Install a new kit of correctly balanced nozzles.
Fuel injection pump timing is wrong - Set the fuel pump timing correctly.
Engine stalling at idle
Incorrect low idle speed adjustment - Test and adjust.
Faulty fuel injection pump - Replace or repair injection pump.
Clogged or defective injectors - Replace fuel injectors.
Improper valve clearance - Adjust valve clearance.
Engine lacks power
Plugged air filter - Change or service air filter element.
Fuel injection nozzles are damaged or dirty - If necessary, replace with a new nozzle.
Uneven fuel injection pressure - Adjust to correct pressure.
Improper valve clearance - Have it adjusted.
Low idle speed set incorrectly - Adjust as required.
Dirt in the fuel hoses or lines - Clean fuel system hoses and lines.
Cylinder head gasket is worn - Install a new gasket.
Worn or broken piston rings - Change piston rings.
Engine overheats
Coolant level is low - The cooling system needs to be refilled and checked for faults.
Insufficient engine oil - Fill the crankcase with engine oil.
Clogged radiator core or damaged radiator cap - Install new cap or clean radiator.
Fan belt is worn or faulty - Replace as required.
Engine is under excessive load - Reduce load on the engine.
Oil pressure is insufficient
Low oil level - Fill up the engine oil.
Oil filter is dirty - Replace or service engine oil filter.
Oil grade or viscosity is wrong - Use oil of proper viscosity.
Excessive oil clearance of crankshaft bearing - Replace bearings.
Worn oil pump - Replace as required.
Engine knocking or noise
Engine oil insufficient - Checking oil level and add if necessary.
Low coolant temperature - Normalize the temperature by warming up the engine.
Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted - Set it up as required.
Incorrect low idle speed adjustment - Need to adjust idle speed.
Damaged or clogged injectors - Change or clean fuel injectors.
Connecting rod is not aligned or worn - Align or change connecting rod.
Pistons are worn or scored - Replace the pistons.
Drive system doesn't function in one direction or either direction
Insufficient hydraulic oil - Need to add oil.
Track mechanism is blocked or damaged - Repair or correct blockage.
Worn or defective relief valve - Relief valve need to be replaced or repair.
Dirty suction line or hydraulic filter - Change hydraulic filter or service suction line.
Faulty hand or foot controls - Repair or replace.
Drive motor or pump is defective - Check and repair if required.
Machine does not move straight or moves jerky
Damaged or jammed undercarriage tracks - Repair or remove jamming.
Tracks are worn or loose - Adjust track tension as required or replace tracks.
Track frame is blocked with debris, dirt, or foreign objects - Remove foreign objects or debris and clean undercarriage track frame.
Reduced power
Plugged hydraulic oil filter - Replace hydraulic filter.
Open or faulty relief valve - Change or close relief valve.
Transmission parts are faulty or damaged - Check and change faulty components.
Stuck input drive shaft - Change or repair faulty drive shaft.
There is air in the hydraulic system - Bleed air from system.
Drive system overheating
Insufficient hydraulic fluid - Fill the system to proper hydraulic fluid level.
Hydraulic fluid filter is dirty - Replace or service hydraulic filter.
Relief valve is not working correctly - Repair or replace relief valve.
Defective drive pump or hydraulic motor - Inspect and replace as necessary.
Dirty oil cooler - Clean the cooling fins.
Transmission overloading - Load needs to be reduced.
Drive system is noisy
Wrong oil viscosity - Drain and refill with correct oil.
Hydraulic system is leaking air - Bleed hydraulic system.
Hydraulic motor or drive pump is defective - Check and repair if required.
Mechanical parts of drive system are defective or worn - Inspect the parts for defect or damage and repair as required.
Hydraulic system has overheating
Hydraulic pressure is not adjusted correctly - Hydraulic pressure must be set correctly.
Main relief valve failure or improper setting - Adjust or change relief valve.
Hydraulic fluid is dirty - Hydraulic fluid change required.
Hydraulic oil level is low - Add oil to the hydraulic system.
Hydraulic pump is worn - Repair or change pump if required.
Lift arm won't raise or lower
Lift controls are defective - Repair or change.
Damaged hydraulic oil pump - Replace or repair pump if necessary.
Faulty hydraulic control valve - Replace or repair the valve.

Bucket can't tilt

Bucket or lift arm is moving slowly
Hydraulic pump is defective - Flow-rate pump and change pump if necessary.
Oil leaks from hydraulic cylinder - Install new cylinder seals.
Hydraulic oil is insufficient - Checking hydraulic oil level and add if necessary.
Hydraulic control valve is not set properly or defective - Set correctly or repair.
Hydraulic pressure has dropped - Correct setting is required.
Bucket or boom is jerky
There is air in the hydraulic system - Bleed hydraulic system.
Hydraulic oil filter element is dirty - Clean or install new filter.
Hydraulic fluid is dirty - Hydraulic fluid change required.
Cylinder tube or rod scoring - Change defective component.
Excessive hydraulic pump noise
Hydraulic leakage or lack of oil - Add hydraulic oil or correct system leaks.
Dirty hydraulic filter - Clean or replace the filter.
Suction line clogging - Suction line must be serviced.
Pump is sucking air - Air bleeding is required.
Damaged pump parts - Change or rebuild pump.
Battery is not charging
Wiring connections are corroded or loose - Service or tighten cable connections.
Battery terminal connectors are defective - Replace terminal connectors.
Battery bad cell - Change the battery.
Belt is worn or loose - Belt needs to be adjusted or replaced.
Starter motor turns slow
Low battery capacity - Recharge the battery.
Battery won’t hold charge - Battery needs to be serviced or replaced.
Faulty battery terminals or disconnected cables - Connect wires properly or change terminals.
Starter does not work
Battery is discharged or worn - Change or recharge battery.
Wire harness is disconnected or incorrectly connected - Check wire harness and connect as required.
Low battery voltage - Battery is drained, recharge it.
Starter motor failing - Starter needs to be replaced.
