Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D - LA240 loader
Dismounting LA240 front loader from Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D tractor
When dismounting the LA240 loader, park the Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D tractor on flat and hard
ground, apply the parking brake. When starting the engine or using the
hydraulic control valve, always sit on the operator's seat. Side Frame -
Raise the boom until the stands can be rotated. Stop the engine. Remove
the spring pin holding the stand to the boom. Slide the stands leftward
and rotate it until the hole in the stand and pin on the boom are
aligned. Then slide the stand rightward and insert the spring pin. Start
the engine and run at idle. Dump the bucket approximately 20 degrees.
Lower the boom and raise the front wheels slightly. Lift the front
wheels with the bucket.
Do not attempt to lift the with the stand. Stop
the engine. Remove the mounting pins from the loader side frames and
hold them in the plate of side frame. Start the engine and run at idle.
Slowly move the hydraulic control lever to rollback position to raise
the loader side frames up and out of the receives of the main frames.
Stop the engine. Slowly release all hydraulic pressure by moving the
hydraulic control lever in all directions. Disconnect the four hoses
with quick couplers at the control valve and place them on the right
side of the boom. Place the protective caps and plugs on the quick
coupler ends. Start the engine and slowly back the tractor away from the
loader.
Mounting LA240 front loader to Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D tractor
Side Frame and Hoses - Slowly drive the Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D tractor between the
LA240 loader side
frames until the rear portion of both side frames touches the main
frames. Stop the engine. Connect four hoses with couplers to the nipple
on the control valve as indicated with color marks. Then connect the
protective caps and plugs to each other. Start the engine and run at
idle. Slowly move the loader control lever to dump position to lower the
side frames into the main frames and engage the bosses of the main
frames to the guide bosses of the side frames. Then lift the front
wheels slightly with the loader. Stop the engine. Reinstall the mounting
pins and secure them with the locking rods. Start the engine. Raise the
boom until the stand can be rotated. Stop the engine. Store the stand to
their original positions and secure it with the spring pin. Start the
engine. Lower the boom and level the bucket.
Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D - Control Valve
Remove the loader frame. Disconnect the cruise control rod. Disconnect
the frame loader control rods. Remove the brake spring. Remove the arms
from spool end. Remove the stay bolt. Remove the valve stay. Disconnect
the pipes. Remove the control valve with pipes. Disassembling Control
Valve - Remove the plugs and take out the spring and load check valve.
Remove the seal plates with other parts inside plug. Draw out the spools
with other component parts from the valve body. When reassembling -
Clean all parts with a suitable solvent, and dry with a lint-free cloth
or air. Visually inspect all parts for damage, Install the spools to the
valve body, not to damage the O-ring.
LA240 loader - Bucket, Boom and Hydraulic Cylinders
LA240 Loader
Bucket and Bucket Cylinder (Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D)
Remove the pins, the lower pin and remove the bucket. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the bucket cylinder. Remove the upper pin and remove the bucket cylinder. When installing the bucket cylinder, the hydraulic port should face inside and be careful of the direction of grease fittings. Boom Cylinder and Hydraulic Tubes - Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the boom cylinders. Remove the pins and remove the boom cylinders. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses with quick couplers at the control valve. Remove the pins and remove the boom from the side frame. Remove the hydraulic tubes from the boom. When installing the boom cylinders, the hydraulic port should face inside and be careful of the direction of grease fittings.
Piston Rod Assembly
Drain hydraulic oil from the
cylinder, and secure the tube end of the cylinder in a vise. Unscrew the
cylinder head with the adjustable gland nut wrench. Pull out the piston
rod assembly from the cylinder tube. When reassembling - Visually
inspect the cylinder tube for signs of scoring or damage. Insert the
piston rod assembly to the cylinder tube, not to damage the piston seal
on the piston. Install the cylinder head to the cylinder tube, not to
damage the ring on the cylinder head.
Cylinder Head, Piston and Nut
Secure the rod end in a vise. Unscrew the nut and remove the piston and cylinder head from the piston rod. Visually inspect all parts for signs of scoring or damage. Insert the piston rod to the cylinder head. not to damage the wiper seal and oil seal. Boom cylinder piston mounting nut - 150 to180 Nm 15.3 / 111 to 132 ft-Ibs. Bucket cylinder piston mounting nut (Kubota BX24, BX25, BX25D) - 350 to 400 Nm / 259 to 295 ft-Ibs.
Installing O-ring and Piston Seal
Place the slide jig on the piston. Install the O-ring to the piston using the slide jig. Install the piston seal over the O-ring using the slide jig. Compress the piston seal to the correct size by installing the piston into the correcting jig. Cylinder Specifications - Boom Cylinder: Cylinder I.D - 40 mm (1.57 in.), Rod O.D - 25 mm (0.98 in.), Stroke - 65 mm (2.56 in.). Bucket Cylinder: Cylinder I.D - 65 mm (2.56 in.), Rod O.D - 30 mm (1.18 in.), Stroke - 204 mm (8.03 in.).

damaged - Repair or replace boom cylinder. Control lever linkage is
damaged - Repair or replace control lever linkage. Hydraulic pump is
damaged - Repair or replace hydraulic pump. Relief valve spring is
damaged - Replace relief valve spring. Relief valve is dirty - Clean
relief valve. Oil filter is clogged - Clean or replace oil filter.
Hydraulic hose is damaged - Replace hydraulic hose.
Boom does not lower: Control valve is damaged - Repair
or replace control valve. Control lever linkage is damaged - Repair or
replace control lever linkage.
Boom speed is insufficient: Boom cylinder tube is worn
or damaged - Replace boom cylinder tube. Boom cylinder piston ring
(piston seal and O-ring) is worn or damaged - Replace boom cylinder
piston ring (piston seal and O-ring). Oil leaks from tube joints -
Repair tube joints. Relief valve setting pressure is too low - Adjust
relief valve. Transmission fluid is insufficient - Fill transmission
fluid. Relief valve is dirty - Clean relief valve.
Bucket does not move: Control valve is damaged - Repair
or replace control valve. Bucket cylinder is damaged - Repair or replace
bucket cylinder. Control lever linkage is damaged - Repair or replace
control lever linkage. Hydraulic pump is damaged - Repair or replace
hydraulic pump. Oil filter is clogged - Clean or replace oil filter.
Relief valve spring is damaged - Replace relief valve spring. Hydraulic
hose is damaged - Replace hydraulic hose. Relief valve is dirty - Clean
relief valve.
Kubota LA240 Front end loader falls by its weight: Boom cylinder
tube is worn or damaged - Replace boom cylinder tube. Boom cylinder
piston ring (piston seal and O-ring) is worn or damaged - Replace boom
cylinder piston ring (piston seal and O-ring). Oil leaks from tube
joints - Repair tube joints. Control valve is damaged - Repair or
replace control valve.
3rd function valve does not operate correctly: 3rd
function valve wiring harness is damaged - Repair or replace 3rd
function valve wiring harness. Battery voltage is not supplied to front
hydraulic valve main switch - Check battery supply voltage at front
hydraulic valve main switch connector. Replace wiring harness. Relay is
damaged - Check or replace relay.
