Engine starts but then stalls: Fuel filter element clogging. Service the filter. Fuel injection pump is not operating properly. Rebuild or change fuel pump. Air filter plugged. Replace air filter element.

Engine overheats: Dirty radiator core or defective radiator cap. Clean radiator or install new cap. Insufficient coolant. Top up coolant fluid and check system for leaks. Broken or loose fan belt. The fan belt needs to be replaced. Low engine oil level. Check and refill engine oil.

Engine lacks power: Fuel injection nozzles fault. Check and replace nozzles if required. Clogged fuel lines or hoses. Service fuel lines and hoses. Restricted intake air. Change air filter element. Damaged cylinder-head gasket. Install new cylinder head gasket.

Abnormal engine noise or knocking: Engine not warmed up. Warm up the engine. Not enough engine oil. Need to add engine oil. Timing of fuel injection pump is incorrect. Use the correct fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Worn or scored pistons. Install new pistons. Connecting rod is defective or not aligned. Need to align or replace the connecting rod.

Engine stalls when idle: Improperly adjusted low idle speed. Adjust low idle speed. The valve clearance is incorrect. Have it adjusted. Fuel injection pump is not working correctly. Install a new pump or rebuild.

Oil pressure is insufficient: Engine oil level low. Fill crankcase to proper oil level. Oil pump is worn or damaged. Remove and inspect oil pump. Oil filter is clogged. Change or clean engine oil filter element.

New Holland T4.105 Transmission Troubleshooting

Transmission noises: Worn gears or incorrect backlash. Change worn gears or adjust backlash correctly. Worn or bent shift forks. Shift forks need to be replaced. Worn or damaged shaft splines. Shaft need to be changed. Insufficient transmission oil. Check and refill the transmission oil. Worn or cracked bearings. Faulty bearings should be changed. Transmission fluid contamination. Change the fluid.

Difficult to shift gears: Gear shift linkage is corroded or worn. Lubricate or replace the shift linkage. Clutch is faulty or misadjusted. Clutch needs to be adjusted or changed. Shift forks are worn or bent. Change defective shift forks. Worn out parts of the gearshift mechanism. Replace worn parts.

Low transmission pressure: Transmission fluid level is low. Check and refill the transmission fluid. Transmission fluid filter element is clogged (if equipped). Clean or change transmission fluid filter. Relief valve is stuck. Install a new valve.

Transmission fluid leaking: Seals or gaskets are broken. Seals and gaskets need to be replaced. Too much fluid in transmission. Excess fluid must be drained.

New Holland T4.105 Hydraulics Troubleshooting

Hydraulic system is overheated: Hydraulic fluid type is improper. The proper type of fluid must be used. Dirty hydraulic fluid. The fluid must be changed. Air in hydraulic system. Bleed air from hydraulic system. Defective main relief valve. Relief valve replacement required.

Hydraulic oil pressure is low: Low hydraulic oil level. Fill the system to proper hydraulic oil level. Clogged hydraulic oil filter. Replace filter element or clean if required. Leaking hydraulic lines. Find leaks in the system and fix it. Incorrect adjusted hydraulic spool valve. Adjust the spool valve correctly. Hydraulic pump failure. Install a new hydraulic fluid pump. Hydraulic cylinder malfunction. Repair or install a new hydraulic cylinder.

Hitch not raising or hitch raises slowly: Hydraulic pump not working. Replace or repair hydraulic fluid pump. Main relief valve malfunction. Replace relief valve. Hydraulic spool valve is damaged. Repair or replace the valve. Hydraulic cylinder failure. Install a new hydraulic cylinder or repair it. Low hydraulic oil level. Need to add oil. Hydraulic oil filter element is clogged. Replace hydraulic filter element or service if necessary. Excessive load on hitch. Load needs to be reduced.

3-point hitch does not lower or lowers very slowly: Hydraulic cylinder is faulty. Repair or replace hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic control valve block is not set properly. Use the proper setting. Worn hitch cross shaft. Change the shaft. The hitch is not adjusted. Adjust 3-point hitch as required.

Hitch jerks when drop or lift: Dirty hydraulic fluid. The fluid must be changed. Faulty hydraulic pump. Change or repair hydraulic oil pump. Air in hydraulic lines. Bleed hydraulic lines. Damaged hydraulic spool valve. Replace or repair the valve. Broken hydraulic cylinder. Repair or change hydraulic cylinder.

New Holland T4.105 Steering System Troubleshooting

Excessive play in steering: Steering column coupling or shaft has maximum wear. Replace faulty part. Steering pump malfunction. Repair or replace steering pump. Steering linkage joints are worn or loose. Repair or replace steering linkage. Steering control valve is worn or defective. Repair or replace the steering control valve.

Steering is hard: Air lock in the steering system. Bleed air. Dirty steering filter. Replace steering filter element. Not enough steering fluid. Fill up steering fluid to required level. Worn or defective steering control valve. Check and replace as required. Steering pump stopped working. Repair or change steering pump. Stuck or worn pump flow control valve. Change or flush control valve. Defective or incorrectly mounted steering column. Change steering column or mount correctly. Front tyres wear unevenly. Change the tyres. Incorrect toe-in. Check toe-in and correct. Steering cylinder leaks. Replace worn cylinder seals or scratched piston rod.
