Engine hard to start or won't start: Fuel filter plugging. Change the filter element. Air in fuel tank. Bleed fuel tank. Clogged or burnt injection nozzle. Check and replace nozzles if required. Damaged fuel injection pump. Replacement or repair required.
Engine shuts off suddenly during operation: Fuel injection pump timing is not adjusted. Check the fuel injection pump timing adjustment. Fuel filter element clogging. Change filter element. Engine is cold. Engine is not warmed up to the required temperature.
Engine starts but stops suddenly: Fuel filter plugged. Change filter element. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Repair or install new pump. Air filter plugged. Clean or replace element.
Engine overheating: Radiator core is dirty or radiator cap is damaged. Replace cap or clean radiator. Lack of engine coolant. The cooling system needs to be refilled and checked for faults.
